Stephanie Rosebaugh is a friend from Arizona. Her ultrarunning story takes a little different trajectory than most. Coming off her 2nd Cocodona 250 finish a few weeks ago, she joins me to help me remember that I am enough, share lots of running stories about 200's and BYU's. We also talk about her book, coming out very soon, The Power of Enough. If you can suffer through my therapy in the first 5-10 minutes, I think you'll enjoy this one. @stephsrunspiration Mou...
On this episode, I sit down with ultrarunning legend Ann Trason for a conversation spanning the roots of the sport to where it stands today. Ann shares what it was like growing up before Title IX, competing alongside the boys in school, discovering ultrarunning through her first ultra, and the resilience it took to overcome DNF's in her first two attempts at Western States before becoming one of the greatest athletes the sport has ever seen, including 14 wins at States. We also dive int...
Cody Warren is an entrepreneur and ultrarunner from Ohio. I met him in person during Keys 100 in 2023. We had met through Harvey Lewis on social media before that. He is a humble and passionate fan of the sport, a family man, and just a real treat to get to know. He's getting ready to toe the line at Cocodona 250 in just 2 days and I am confident he will do well. He has put in the work. Can't wait to follow! Enjoy this awesome conversation! @cwarrenin...
The Watters family from Alabama are Bob and Heather (the parents), and Ana and Larkin (the future of Alabama ultras for years to come, no pressure...ha-ha). Bob has done pretty much all of the tough trail 100 milers in the southeast as well as a couple 200's, including Southern States inaugural year. Larkin just finished the SS200 this year with the help of the whole family and a few other friends. Ana is the 50k specialist of the family and pacer/PT. I had the opport...
Dan Hilliard from South Florida just finished his first 100 miler recently at Hungryland 100 down near Lake Okechobee in South Florida. The RD is our good friend Mikey Bee and this is no easy first race. It's a beautiful area with no light pollution and other city disturbances. Also home to the largest gator I've ever seen. Dan is an interesting, humble guy, coached by Chris and Ivi with Runfluent, and of course a great steward of the sport and the trails. Enjoy ...
Martin Schneekloth from Alabama by way of Germany has literally run hundreds of ultramarathons including most of the really hard mountain races in the world. That's his jam. He has his own YouTube channel called Ultra Kraut Running with many of his race highlights and scenery. He has more stories than we can fit into 1 episode, but we tried. Enjoy! @ultrakraut (1793) Ultra Kraut Running - YouTube Mount to Coast | For runners who transcend distance. - code =...
I had a really fun chat with Nicole Coccia! 35 year old mother of 7, less than 2 years into her ultra-running career and 4/5 on victories. Not a bad start. Nicole has wins at Keys 100, Daytona 100, Long Haul 100, and Tik Tok 12 hour. Her only other ultra was a 4th at Blood Rock 100 and there's a story. She comes from a sales background, so she's not shy and doesn't lack confidence. Great tools for the perfect podcast guest. Enjoy and wish her luck at ...
Marie Torres affectionately known as Ruth Pearl just finished her first 100 miler at Long Haul, last weekend. She had a DNF last year at 75ish miles and while she did get sweet redemption, it was way more than that. Hear it from her. Enjoy and share.
