She patched them up each time. And she felt powerless and unfulfilled. COVID accelerated the decision she had already been building toward. She left the ER, completed additional training in integrative medicine, obesity medicine, and health coaching. Then she built a fully virtual practice focused on prevention, weight management, and hormone therapy for menopausal women. In this episode, she walks through how she structured the transition, LLC formation, 1099 contracting, malpractice insurance, working with a healthcare attorney on Medicare opt-out, and building income from multiple sources, including medical writing and a med spa medical director role. Her practice, Living Well MD, is licensed in five states. Show notes and links can be found at nonclinicalphysicians.com/promoting-health/.

He now sees 80 patients a day, bills five times the Ontario family practice average, and is home by 4:30PM. In this episode, he walks through the framework he developed to reorganize a family practice without extra funding, and the software tool, DoctorFlow. He built it out of necessity and now offers it to other clinics. Both apply to physicians practicing in the US and Canada. The free CRAFT manuscript and more information on DoctorFlow are in the show notes, and links are available at nonclinicalphysicians.com/great-income-with-no-burnout/.

In this episode, she walks through her own story, from house hunting in the suburbs of Boston to practicing telemedicine from Lisbon. And she breaks down what Hippocratic Adventures offers for physicians at every stage of curiosity about living abroad. She covers the realistic timeline for making the move, the two most common paths physicians take (local clinical practice and remote telemedicine), what the nonclinical options look like from abroad, including pharma and medical education, and what the experience is actually like beyond the Instagram version. In this episode, she shares the wake-up call that changed her trajectory, how she transitioned from employed psychiatry to locums to coaching, and what she consistently sees in the physicians who come to her for help. She covers the systemic and psychological roots of physician burnout, why women physicians face a distinct set of compounding pressures, and how her BREATHE framework guides clients from a place of chronic stress back to clarity and choice. In this episode, she breaks down the communication skills, mindset, and courtroom strategies that make the difference. Heather covers what attorneys actually want from an expert witness, why depositions are now being treated like trial cross-examinations, and why credibility has less to do with confidence and more to do with cognitive empathy and preparation. She also explains the difference between being an expert and being an authority, and why that distinction determines whether the jury believes you.
