Jenny and Stacy are back, and this week we’ve got art, celebrity sightings, shopping, travel, family, and an extremely important investigation into whether Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson might actually be related.First up: Jenny went to the Guggenheim for Taryn Simon’s massive new exhibition, Father Country I Do Love You — and this one was especially meaningful because Taryn’s sister, Gillian, has been Jenny’s best friend since they were 11 years old.So yes, Jenny has known this family basically forever. The exhibition was nearly a decade in the making and takes over the entire Guggenheim rotunda. It follows the life of one unnamed FBI agent through an enormous web of stories involving American history, crime, politics, violence, memory and the national security state. There are more than 1,000 photographs, along with video, sculpture and text, and somehow all of these seemingly disconnected stories begin weaving together. But there’s another story running through the whole thing: Gillian, Taryn (and their sister Shannon’s) father — someone Jenny has known for most of her life.He worked for the U.S. government when he was younger — although his girls never completely understood exactly what he did — lived in Thailand with their mother, traveled extensively throughout Asia and other parts of the world, and documented those years in thousands of meticulously organized Kodachrome slides. He later developed Alzheimer’s as Taryn was creating the project, turning the exhibition into something even more personal: a meditation on fathers, memory, history, what we know about the people we love…and everything we never quite get to know.In other words, Jenny went to an art opening and emerged with approximately 700 things she now needs Stacy to read about. Also at the Guggenheim? Gwyneth Paltrow. Brad Falchuk. Drew Barrymore. Michael Stipe. Edward Norton.Jenny behaved herself.Possibly TOO well. She didn’t approach anybody because she didn’t want to be that person — but now she’s wondering why she didn’t at least say hello to Edward Norton, whom she had actually interviewed before. She really wanted to talk to director Shawn Levy and his wife Serena- Jenny met them on a family trip to Mexico 21 years ago! But she felt like if she had talked to him about her following his career for the past twenty years... Jenny thought she'd seem like a stalker. From there, naturally, we move to another culturally significant subject: Jenny’s new chenille house coat/sweater situation. It is soft. It is oversized. It comes in brown. Stacy probably needs one. Jenny will be sending the link. They also talk fashion finds, the latest Gap collaboration, bags they may or may not need, and the rumored/future foldable iPhone — because apparently simply having a phone is no longer enough. Stacy is getting ready to head to Florida to visit family, Jenny has travel coming up for a friend’s wedding, and there’s plenty of catching up about work, late-night client calls, vintage outfits and an upcoming dinner with an old friend of their parents.Jenny and Stacy also get into Macklemore,, Robert Kraft, charitable giving and the controversy surrounding it.And finally, the question nobody asked but Jenny now needs answered:Are Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson actually related?Jenny will investigate.Just another Saturdays with Stacy: high art, low-stakes shopping, famous people Jenny refuses to bother, family, politics, travel, memory, chenille and several tangents that were absolutely not on the agenda.Instagram @justjennyhutt + TikTok: @jennyhuttComplimentary family law consultations: jenny@lawjaw.com Questions or comments about the episode please email justjennypod@gmail.comPLEASE SUBSCRIBE TO MY PATREON to support the podcast and FOR LIVE CONTENT and VIDEOS of EVERY EPISODE OF THE PODCAST plus BEHIND THE SCENES CONVERSATIONS. On this episode of Saturdays with Stacy, Jenny and Stacy head into the Jewish New Year with a very Saturdays with Stacy mix of fashion, family, menopause, body image, tennis, technology, friendship and gratitude. They kick things off with some serious fall shopping talk, including Stacy’s enthusiasm for the La Ligne/Banana Republic collaboration, pleated pants, suede, stripes and the idea that you don’t need an entirely new wardrobe to make yourself feel good—a few new pieces or even reorganizing what you already own can give you a fall refresh. Jenny also shares her love for an affordable Quince cotton-cashmere sweater, while reminding everyone that her issues with wool and cashmere remain very real. The conversation then turns to menopause, temperature swings and the frustration of simply not feeling quite right in your body. Stacy talks about her experience with vaginal estrogen and the bloating she believes she experienced while using Imvexxy, while the sisters discuss just how hormonally sensitive some women can be. Stacy also shares an update on taking Repatha, with a little help from Ruthie making sure she actually gives herself the injection. There are plenty of family updates too. Stacy spent Labor Day weekend relaxing in the Hamptons and then moved into Sophie’s for the week, giving her lots of time with the grandchildren—including special podcast guest Archie and an appearance from adorable Beatrice. The sisters also talk about how much fun they’ve been having watching an especially exciting U.S. Open, while Jenny looks ahead to Raquel being fully moved into her new apartment. With the episode arriving around Rosh Hashanah and the 25th anniversary of September 11th approaching, the conversation takes a more serious turn. Jenny and Stacy discuss an old James Woods interview about his experience on a flight prior to 9/11 and reflect on how astonishing it is that 25 years have passed. Jenny also talks about having a son traveling outside the country, how much she misses him and how grateful she is that they speak every day—leading to a larger conversation about family relationships and the growing phenomenon of estrangement between adult children and their parents.Of course, things quickly get lighter again when the sisters recap a very fun birthday dinner for their longtime friend Elise at Campagnola in New York City. The night leads to a debate that may require listener participation: What exactly does it mean when someone tells you that you are “regular size”? After Haley uses the phrase, Jenny, Stacy and Lisa are left analyzing whether “regular size” is a compliment, an insult—or something no woman ever wants to hear. That discussion becomes even funnier when Stacy recounts a man at her gym asking whether she had “changed her look.” With no new haircut, workout clothes or obvious explanation, Stacy spirals into trying to figure out exactly what he meant—and wonders whether she needs to go back and demand clarification. The sisters unpack how loaded even an innocent comment about a woman’s appearance can become, particularly when body image is already on your mind. Stacy also talks about getting her second Prolia injection for osteoporosis, which somehow leads—naturally—to jokes about jaw side effects, getting skinny and whether the gym guy would finally approve of her “new look.”There’s also talk of the newest iPhone, whether either sister is ready for a foldable phone, the return of loafers, Birkenstocks, ballerina sneakers and why Jenny is officially done with towering shoes—even if Stacy thinks they would look fabulous walking into court. The episode closes where the New Year conversation began: with gratitude. Jenny and Stacy reflect on how quickly summer—and life—seem to move as they get older, and why that makes it even more important not to sweat the small stuff. Stacy shares that she is heading to a challah bake and Torah class with her girls on the eve of Rosh Hashanah, feeling especially grateful for the people around her.Wishing everyone—Jewish or not—a happy, healthy New Year, a wonderful start to the school year and a reminder to appreciate the moments while you’re in them.Instagram @justjennyhutt + TikTok: @jennyhutt Shopmy Shopmy.com/jennyhuttComplimentary family law consultations: jenny@lawjaw.com Questions or comments about the episode please email justjennypod@gmail.comPLEASE SUBSCRIBE TO MY PATREON to support the podcast and FOR LIVE CONTENT and VIDEOS of EVERY EPISODE OF THE PODCAST plus BEHIND THE SCENES CONVERSATIONS. Dolly Parton was everything good.In 2019, I had the extraordinary privilege of interviewing Dolly at SiriusXM. This conversation was especially personal for me: I first met Dolly when I was a child through my father, Charles Koppelman, who worked with her during a pivotal chapter in her career. Getting to reconnect with her decades later was emotional, surreal—and every bit as incredible as you would imagine.Dolly and I revisit her history with my dad and the team that helped introduce her music to an even wider audience. She talks about growing up as one of 12 children, the many personalities in her enormous family, and how those early experiences helped her understand and connect with people of every age and background. We also discuss her remarkable songwriting, tireless work ethic, unmistakable style, and the projects she was celebrating at the time, including Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings, her 50th anniversary at the Grand Ole Opry, and Dolly Parton’s America. And, of course, Dolly shares the very sweet story of becoming Miley Cyrus’s “fairy godmother”—beginning with her friendship and early work with Billy Ray Cyrus—and why she knew from the start that Miley was destined to become a star.Listening to this conversation again, what stands out is not only Dolly’s extraordinary talent or legendary career. It is her warmth, quick wit, generosity, humility, and rare ability to make the person speaking with her feel completely seen.I was fortunate to know Dolly during my childhood, fortunate to reconnect with her as an adult, and profoundly grateful that I had the opportunity to share this conversation with her.In this episode:Dolly’s memories of working with Charles KoppelmanThe story of her crossover from country superstar to global iconWhy Dolly connected so naturally with every generationGrowing up in a family of 12 childrenSongwriting, ambition, work ethic, and remaining unmistakably herselfHer friendship with Billy Ray CyrusHow she became Miley Cyrus’s “fairy godmother”The warmth, humor, and humanity behind the legendDolly really did have the ability to connect with everyone. She will always be loved—and she will always be missed.Video of this episode on youtube.com/jennyhutt Instagram @justjennyhutt + TikTok: @jennyhuttComplimentary family law consultations: jenny@lawjaw.com Questions or comments about the episode please email justjennypod@gmail.comPLEASE SUBSCRIBE TO MY PATREON to support the podcast and FOR LIVE CONTENT and VIDEOS of EVERY EPISODE OF THE PODCAST plus BEHIND THE SCENES CONVERSATIONS. Jenny is joined by her sister Stacy for a wide-ranging sister catch-up covering everything from serious current events to shopping, family life, food discoveries, and the realities of trying to keep an apartment organized.Jenny and Stacy discuss the Lindsay Clancy case and the devastating effects of postpartum psychosis, including how it differs from postpartum depression and why greater awareness and support are so important. They also reflect on the loss of Dolly Parton, Jenny’s personal memories of knowing and interviewing her, and the complicated emotions that come with losing someone so connected to your childhood. The conversation then moves into lighter territory: Jenny’s dogs’ fear of thunderstorms, Stacy’s chaotic family birthday dinner, cleaning out children’s rooms, apartment organization, exercise motivation, online dating, television recommendations, and their latest fashion searches.Along the way, the sisters debate bags, Birkenstocks, blazers, shoe storage, frozen Costco finds, Greek yogurt with berries, Greek yogurt cheesecake, and whether Jenny can fit one more item into her freezer.
