Most of us grow up with a deep sense of fairness, but that instinct can become a problem when we bring it into our relationship with God. In Matthew 20, Jesus tells the Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard, where laborers hired at different hours all receive the same pay, and the ones who worked longest are furious about it. The parable exposes a hard truth: if God were truly fair with any of us, none of us would be in a good position. Grace is not distributed based on how long you have served or how much you have sacrificed. It is given freely, on God's terms, to anyone who responds to His call. The moment we start ranking sins and deciding who deserves forgiveness, we have forgotten that we were not worthy either. If God never does another good thing in your life beyond saving you, He has already done enough. Grace is not fair, and that is the best news any of us will ever hear.
