Jesus told the story of ten bridesmaids waiting for a groom. Five were prepared with extra oil, and five were not. When the groom arrived at midnight, only the five who were ready entered the wedding feast. The door was shut on the others. This parable from Matthew 25 is a direct challenge to every person alive today. Spiritual readiness for the return of Christ is not something that can be borrowed or inherited. It is deeply personal. The question worth sitting with is simple: if Jesus returned today, would you feel joy or fear?
