You’ve saved plenty of outfit inspiration on Pinterest. You’ve tried new stores, searched for unique brands and spent entire afternoons thrifting, only to come home with one piece you have no idea how to wearAnd after all the time and effort, you feel like you're out of options to turn your mood board into a real wardrobe that works for you. It’s easy to assume you need access to cooler brands or more interesting clothes. But sometimes, the problem isn't what you're buying. It's how your clothes are working together. In this episode, I'm taking you behind the scenes of a recent client experience. She came to me feeling like she'd exhausted her shopping options searching for clothes that are comfortable and cool. She was spending too much time shopping, buying pieces that still didn’t work, and constantly returning things.I’m getting into why her closet that had pieces similar to her Pinterest, still wasn’t translating into outfits she liked. I’m breaking down why style doesn’t depend on your size, but it is dependent on how well you can translate the changes you need before the clothes have the same effect on your body and proportions.I’m also talking about what makes outfits feel intentional when working with a petite, athletic frame, and what makes it feel overwhelming and bulky. How I go about shopping for pieces that translate into wearable outfits instead of following a Pinterest board without considering the rest of the closet. And finally, I’m shedding light on the fact that having cool, unique pieces is not the only way to make an outfit look and feel interesting. In this episode, we get into:Why looking for new brands and stores isn't always the answer when your outfits feel boring or uninspired. How to use your Pinterest board to understand the style you're drawn to, rather than treating it like a shopping list. Why your body and proportions matter when figuring out which outfit combinations work.Which shoes and pants we paired together for an intentional look with winter bootsHow different coat lengths pair with wide leg and slim pantsThe change we made for layers to look flattering instead of bulkyWhy fashion trends and prescriptive rules get in the way of finding what works for youHow to recognize the difference between a wardrobe gap and an outfit combination that simply needs adjusting. Why an outfit doesn't need to recreate your inspiration photo to feel cool and intentional. How having a stronger wardrobe foundation can make thrifting and shopping more focused, enjoyable and successful.Book a discovery callCheck out Revive
Getting a promotion is exciting, but what happens when the role you're stepping into feels a little bigger than the version of yourself you're used to seeing? In this episode, I'm taking you back to a time in my career when I landed a promotion I really wanted, but wasn't entirely sure I was ready for. I was moving into a more senior, visible role, surrounded by people with more experience, and suddenly my usual work wardrobe wasn't giving me the feeling I wanted when I walked into the office.I remember catching my reflection in a window and thinking, she ain't it.My cute work dresses and cardigans weren't necessarily bad, but they weren't helping me feel like the client executive I was becoming. I wanted to look more polished, more elegant and more established. But I also didn't want to lose the personality that made getting dressed fun in the first place. So I started paying attention to the details. I looked at the signals of success around me, decided where it made sense to invest (including the handbag, shoes and yes, even the wallet), and started building a work wardrobe around tailored pieces with unexpected details.I share how I found a balance between looking sharp, feeling credible and still having room for creativity. I also talk about how those early wardrobe decisions helped me feel more comfortable being visible, work through some of my impostor syndrome, and recognize that I didn't need to dress like everyone else to belong in the room.In this episode, we get into:Why my old work wardrobe stopped feeling right when I stepped into a more senior role. The difference between dressing to meet a dress code and dressing like the professional you're becoming. The everyday pieces I chose to invest in and why I prioritized cost per wear. How I used tailored separates, interesting details and unexpected pieces to bring personality into my work wardrobe. Why I don't think looking professional means dressing like everyone else. What I've learned about femininity, authority and having a strong presence. The three elements I still look for when creating outfits for visibility: structure, strategic flash and creativity.Revive is my collaborative offer to create a wardrobe that helps you show up for the opportunities you’re working towards without feeling like you have to put on a costume to get there.Explore ReviveBook a discovery callConnect on Instagram
I’m sitting down with a client to talk about how a work wardrobe reset changed the way she shops, gets dressed, and shows up at work. She came into the process wanting to look more elegant, polished, and authoritative. But what she thought those things looked like in clothing wasn't necessarily what she needed. Instead of more black, grey, and safe professional basics, her wardrobe needed more colour, personality, and ease. They discuss what was keeping her stuck in a cycle of buying more of the same, and how finding a clearer personal style direction helped her feel more confident standing out at work.I’m getting into how I translate words like “elegant" and “expressive” into tangible details you can actually look for in clothing. During a personal style exploration, I look beyond what you think your work wardrobe should look like and pay attention to what makes you feel comfortable, confident, and like yourself in an outfit — including what you gravitate toward when you're not thinking about how you're being perceived. Those clues reveal the disconnect between the professional image you want to project and the clothes that actually help you feel that way.I’m also exploring why a wardrobe can look like the version of yourself you want to present at work, yet your outfits still don't feel like they represent you. When you're consuming style content that reinforces what you already believe you should wear, it's easy to keep buying the same shapes, colours, and brands without solving the real problem. Once you have a clearer style direction — including the colours and silhouettes that feel right for you — it's much easier to spot the gaps in your work wardrobe and understand what actually makes your outfits come together. Finally, I’m talking about how solving that disconnect changes your relationship with shopping. When you know what you're looking for and why, shopping becomes less of a constant background activity and more of an intentional decision. Instead of endlessly searching for the piece that will finally make your wardrobe work, you can recognize what you need, make more informed choices, and buy fewer things you'll actually wear. For this client, that meant more mental space, more confidence in her personal style, and a work wardrobe that helped her feel more visible and memorable.Key topicsNavigating a career transition from working at home to being back in the office, and why the wardrobe that worked before no longer met her needs. How expressing more personality through personal style helps you feel more visible, memorable, and confident at work.Buying the same shapes, colours, and brands over and over — and ending up with a bursting closet but outfits that lacked personality.Understanding the disconnect between wanting to look elegant and authoritative and what those qualities actually looked like in her personal style.Moving beyond a black-and-grey work wardrobe by embracing more colour, different silhouettes, and better-quality pieces she genuinely enjoys wearing.Learning how to shop with intention instead of relying on familiar choices or endless outfit inspiration.Building a work wardrobe strategy that reduces decision fatigue, makes shopping more deliberate, and helps getting dressed feel easier.Get this kind of clarity in your own wardrobeInside Revive, we work together in person to identify what you want your outfits to communicate, figure out what’s not working, and find pieces that bring your vision to life. When your outfits aren’t coming together in a way you like, it’s easy to assume that the answer is more outfit inspo, finding that one perfect basic or discovering a brand you never heard of.But before you look outside of your closet, I want you to look at what’s going on with your outfits first. Wearing more of what you already own starts with understanding a few styling principles that make an outfit work.In this episode, I’m talking about the 3 style fixes that help your outfits feel intentional, look polished and come together easily.First, I’m looking at proportion. A closet can be full of perfectly fitting pieces that still don’t quite work together. I’m getting into why shopping for fit instead of size matters, how proportion affects the way an outfit looks and how small adjustments to layering and top lengths can keep you from feeling buried in fabric.Next, I’m diving into structure. If you want an outfit to feel more pulled together without looking formal, structure can make all the difference. That might mean reaching for a blazer or tailored trousers, but it can also be as simple as adding cargo pants to balance out a flowy top. You’ll learn what to look for in your own closet when an outfit feels more disheveled than effortless. Finally, I’m getting into colour and why some colours are easier to mix and match than others. Before bringing more bright or statement colours into your wardrobe, you need the right bridge colours to help everything work together. This is often the missing piece when you’re trying to recreate an outfit you saved for inspiration. Once you understand how colours work together, getting dressed in colour becomes a whole lot easier. In this episode, you’ll learn:how proportion changes the way an outfit looks, especially when layering or wearing wide leg pantsthe simple layering fix to keep your outfit from feeling bulkyhow to choose top lengths that work with different pant silhouetteswhat it means to add structure to make an outfit look polished without looking formalthe two types of structured pieces from formal to casualwhich flowy pieces in your closet can benefit from being paired with structurewhich colours make putting an outfit together easierhow to combine different colours for an outfit to feel cohesive but still interestingConnect with me on InstagramBook a discovery call
Your wardrobe can feel completely outdated but buying a whole new one isn't always the solution. For today's guest, becoming a mom and working from home made her realize that the way she was dressing no longer felt like her. She hadn't figured out what her style was and how to bridge the gap between her closet and her current life and scrolling for more style inspiration wasn't helping. Her social media feed and ads were mostly showing her what she already owned. In this episode, we talk about what happens when you stop looking outward for the answer to your personal style and start developing a closet with your own point of view, for the life that you lead daily. The conversation shows you the 1:1 process I use to identify lifestyle gaps, build outfit formulas, and make shopping more intentional without a full overhaul.Key topicshow your wardrobe can stop matching your day-to-day life even when there's technically nothing wrong with the clothesthe underlying reason why your wardrobe feels dated even though you're investing in itwhat the difference is between knowing what you like and knowing what feels like youthe wardrobe gap between office clothes and athleisure, and how addressing it makes getting dressed easierwhat changes after you develop more discernment around the clothes you invest inthe outfit hack that gives you pulled-together looks every morning, especially on rushed days or when you want more confidencehow thinking about fit, texture and quality create longevity even with trendy piecesConnect with me on InstagramBook a discovery call
When your outfits feel off, trying to overhaul your closet is usually not the right first move. While a big cull, getting organized and starting with a clean slate feels productive, it's like taking the scenic route when you're already running late. It's nice, but it's not the most direct way to get you where you want to be: having a closet with the right options when you're getting dressed. After many attempted overhauls with clients and trying to solve everything at once, time and time again we made the most progress when we focused on one specific use case at a time.In this episode, I'm diving right into fixing the biggest problem you're encountering with a microcapsule and how it helps you dress for a real use case—such as postpartum life, work trips, or hosting—and lead to outfits that are easy to wearThe tea:start with how you live, not with a major wardrobe reset.sloset overhauls can feel overwhelming when time, budget, and decision-making energy are limited“more put together” is hard to act on until you identify exactly where and when that matterspinpointing a specific scenario—like events, travel, or date nights—can reveal what your wardrobe needs.capsule wardrobes need to be more specific before they work for youpersonal style is about more than a cohesive closet; it brings different functions and points of view togethermicrocapsules are small groups of pieces built for one clear use case that can still work with the rest of your wardrobepurposeful additions can refresh existing outfits without requiring a complete closet overhaulyou don’t need to replace everything to feel better in your clothesDownload my free microcapsule guide Connect with me on Instagram
In this episode, I'm sharing a practical framework for fixing one specific style problem at a time, instead of trying to overhaul your whole closet at once. I break style work into 4 easy to act on steps: choose one context, define the details, gather inspiration, and turn that inspiration into a focused shopping plan.Bits you'll want to take notes on:why defining your personal style is not always the best first step when working on your stylehow I pinpointed the gaps in my closetturning nothing-to-wear into a specific context you can focus onwhich details shape your outfits: indoor or outdoor, season, time of day, venue, and overall vibefinding inspo on Pinterest by vibe, location, time of day, or a piece you already ownhow to turn inspiration into a list you can use to shop your closet or hit the mallPeep my Pinterest boardDownload the Free Guide
