let me introduce yall to Shiropa, one of my fav makeup artists on the gram currently working with major indian and international brands, who, like all of us, started out w (almost) nothing. steering through a conversation about her world of makeup, L.A. artists, talent and marketing proportions in the industry, collaborations, rise to fame, getting canceled, (sex life ??) and a lot of this and that, Shiropa proved to be the absolute boss b we all knew her to be. hop on to join in on the conversation (and who knows, maybe we might convince you to FINALLY start that instagram or youtube page you always wanted to start!!) we all have (as drama-loving teenagers) been stuck in a what-to-believe what-not-to-believe situation, haven't we? let me drive down a road of how to deal with being indecisive about cutting a friend off, repetitive behavioral patterns we must identify, or having unbiased un-manipulated judgments about people in general. I might or might not have gone down a very angry rant about toxic cancel culture including that of celebs, non-celebs, surface-level opinions, and everything else that is pushing everyone towards very harsh negativity, truly satisfying. all I want is for every one of us to celebrate love, just the way it should be. my Instagram, google form, and mental health resources link right here --> https://linktr.ee/mileenial
we have all tried our best to love ourselves however we are, right? but somehow, somewhere insecurities about our bodies, be it hair or skin or eyes, or how skinny we are, or how not skinny we are; creep in and take refuge in our brains. like forever. in yet another episode of #milee&frens join me and my friends in a conversation about our struggles with the entire range of body image issues (unhealthy relationships with food and the word 'fat', sizes in the fast fashion industry, bullies, societal standards of a 'perfect body', transformations gone wrong thanks to the quarantine, height insecurities; we have covered it all). I will most likely put a part 2 to this because as much as the conversation is almost neverending, I feel the absolute need to add a few more very important points. also, the audio might be questionable here, for that I'm sorry. but holding this conversation with a group of my friends was reassurance enough that I am not alone, and the same for the rest of us :) my linktree: https://linktr.ee/mileenial
join me and 5 of my coolest friends in my very first episode with #milee&frens in a super chaotic 3AM (fr) conversation about manipulation and predators on the internet and asshole exes (inclusive of an extremely dumb color discourse????, don't ask us why) and everything else we as teenage girls faced and would LOVE to advise our younger selves about. recording it was so so fun, I probably listened to this about thrice myself. from Trisha's 5 years no-dating policy to Gunjita's 'blood red' to Akansha's info dump on gendered colors, we have got it all. (w a crazy lil surprise at the end, I'm jus sorry for that). my linktree for the blog; check it out for accessible, affordable, and queer-inclusive mental health resources!! - https://linktr.ee/mileenial
so all of my heart eyes for every single mom friend out there, because I see u. if you literally never in your life said the words, "hey I'm sorry that you're upset, but I don't have the emotional space right now", you need to listen to this. if you are the go-to 'therapist friend' for most people in your Instagram contact list, this is your moment. if you are the nicest soul to everyone around, at the cost of your own emotional capacity, LISTEN ALONG. u deserve the best.
we've all had our fair share of friendship breakups, haven't we? they suck, big time. but that's okay! let's drive down a conversation about boundaries and Asian families and toxic relationships and how it all sorta-kinda ties down to blurred lines of boundaries because trust me dude, we all feel the same instagram- @/innewyorkimileerock form for sending letters: https://forms.gle/sWiPZRDoMS5ZbRM97

let's be real here, teenage is a BITCH. I mean unless you're from like 1980 or live under a rock, teenage really kicked us, threw us off, smacked us right in the face, had us cry for like 1/4th of our lives, wiped off the entire concept of a sleep schedule, and really what a journey; and we still somehow managed to romanticize it??? like okay talk about teenage angst. but like, don't we still somehow love it? let's steer through teenage and adulting with the entire range of mental health, uncertainty, shitty internet stuff, emotional rollercoasters because why not ;)
