Welcome to Ready for Love, the podcast for women who are ready to stop orbiting everyone else’s needs, expectations, and opinions and become the center of their own lives. I created this show to have counter-culture conversations on love, power and modern womanhood. Each episode turns your attention inward, toward the beliefs, patterns, choices, and self-betrayals shaping the life you have now, because when you change, everything in your life changes, too. And you can finally start creating the life you actually want. Being ready for love reaches far beyond finding a romantic partner. It means becoming grounded enough to trust yourself, honest enough to face your own bullshit, and self-led enough to decide what belongs in your life. That includes the people you love, the work you pursue, the standards you hold, the pleasure you allow, and the future you are willing to create. I spent 15 years as a clinical psychotherapist before becoming the paradigm-shifting, script-flipping li...

How much of your life are you spending on autopilot, doing everything you're supposed to do, while secretly wondering why you don't feel more alive? You have the career, the relationships, and a life that looks pretty damn good on paper. But most days? You're just going through the motions, waiting for something to get excited about. Hilary Silver calls this living with your dimmer switch turned down. And ladies, fine is a terrible place to settle when you could be fully turned on by your own life. Hilary explains why chasing external validation, people-pleasing, and living by everyone else's expectations leave so many women feeling exhausted and unfulfilled. What if the assumptions you make every day are the very reason you're holding yourself back from the love, confidence, success, and opportunities you want? We've all heard what happens when you assume, right? Well, I'm calling BS on that one. Some assumptions can actually make your life a whole lot better. And the best part? You get to choose them. In this episode of Ready for Love, Hilary Silver shares seven assumptions she lives by that have changed everything from her relationships to her business. From giving people the benefit of the doubt to expecting a yes before you've even asked, these simple shifts can help you stop second-guessing yourself, speak your mind, and actually get more of what you want. How many times have you decided the answer is no before you've even opened your mouth? Come on, ladies. You're rejecting yourself before anyone else gets the chance! Hilary shares why it's time to stop playing small and start assuming things will work out in your favor. Even when life goes sideways. Because when you know you'll figure it out, what are you so afraid of? Episode Highlights: Why assuming the best about people saves you unnecessary drama How people-pleasing makes you less trustworthy, not more likable Why another woman's success isn't taking anything away from yours The surprising power of assuming the answer is yes Why trusting yourself beats having a perfect plan Episode Breakdown: 00:00 How Positive Assumptions Improve Relationships 03:45 Stop People-Pleasing and Build Self-Confidence 07:15 Abundance Mindset: Overcome Scarcity and Comparison 09:15 Assume the Yes: Start Asking for What You Want 11:50 Build Self-Trust and Overcome Fear 13:20 Why Everything Works Out in Your Favor ✨ I’m Hilary Silver, LCSW, former psychotherapist turned master coach and founder of Ready for Love. Some women have been conditioned to be so grateful for the bare minimum that they’ve forgotten they’re allowed to expect more. You feel relieved when he finally texts back. You thank your husband for taking care of the kids. You feel appreciated when your boss compliments your work, even though your paycheck hasn't changed. Sound familiar? These little moments can reveal where your standards have quietly slipped. Ladies, it's time to raise the bar! In this episode of Ready for Love, Hilary Silver challenges the kind of gratitude that keeps women settling for less in relationships, seeking external validation, and putting everyone else's needs first. We've been conditioned to feel lucky just to be chosen. But when did wanting more become something to feel guilty about? Hilary shares five things women need to stop being grateful for and the mindset shifts that build self-worth, confidence, and higher standards in dating, relationships, and life. When you know your value, you stop chasing approval, accepting crumbs, and bending over backward to keep people happy. You can appreciate what you have and still want more. The question is, are you ready to expect it? Episode Highlights Why accepting the bare minimum keeps your relationship standards low How flattery and external validation can undermine your self-worth The difference between mutual appreciation and unequal effort Why settling for "good enough" keeps you from what you really want How to stop waiting to be chosen and start choosing for yourself Episode Breakdown: 00:00 Why Gratitude Can Keep You Settling for Less 04:15 Stop Accepting the Bare Minimum in Relationships 08:10 Raise Your Standards for Equal Effort and Appreciation 09:30 Why Settling for Good Enough Holds You Back 10:55 Stop Seeking Validation and Start Choosing Yourself ✨ I’m Hilary Silver, LCSW, former psychotherapist turned master coach and founder of Ready for Love. High-functioning burnout has a way of hiding behind success, especially for women who have spent their lives believing their worth depends on how much they achieve and how much they do for everyone else. You're getting it all done. Work, family, deadlines, and a never-ending to-do list. Everyone thinks you've got it handled. And you do. So why are you so exhausted? Hilary Silver is calling BS on the usual burnout advice. More self-care? Better boundaries? Another vacation? Please. None of that fixes the beliefs that keep high-achieving women stuck in overdrive. Hilary explains how perfectionism, self-worth, and the need for validation fuel high-functioning burnout. She shares how to break the cycle of overachievement, stop feeling guilty about rest, and make real changes that last. Because what's the point of all that success if you're too exhausted to enjoy it? Episode Highlights Why high-functioning burnout often goes unnoticed The hidden cost of being the woman who does it all How achievement becomes addictive for high achievers Why self-care and boundaries alone won't fix burnout How to break the burnout cycle by changing the beliefs behind it Episode Breakdown: 00:00 Understanding High-Functioning Burnout 05:51 The Dual Nature of Burnout: Doing vs. Being 11:53 Reprogramming Beliefs to Combat Burnout 18:02 Practical Tools for Recovery and Sustainable Living ✨ I’m Hilary Silver, LCSW, former psychotherapist turned master coach and founder of Ready for Love. Knowing your patterns is not the same as changing them, and real personal growth starts when you learn how to make different choices in the moments that matter. On this episode of Ready for Love, Hilary Silver talks about why self-awareness can still leave you stuck and what it actually takes to create lasting personal growth. She introduces the idea of your “growth edge,” the point where your comfort zone ends and a different response becomes possible. That edge may show up in a difficult conversation, a boundary, a relationship, or a decision you would normally avoid. How do you know when you are being asked to grow? And how do you stop defaulting to the version of yourself you already know? Hilary shares how to use your future self as a guide, why imperfect action still counts, and how small choices can build a new identity over time. This episode is about self-improvement, personal growth, breaking old patterns, and becoming someone you can trust. Episode Highlights Why self-awareness alone doesn’t create change How to recognize your personal growth edge Choosing differently when old patterns take over Using your future self to guide decisions Why small wins help reinforce real growth Episode Breakdown: 00:00 The Journey of Change and Growth 01:04 Understanding the Growth Process 02:55 Identifying Your Growth Edge 04:48 The Reckoning: Making Decisions for Growth 08:32 Celebrating Your Growth 10:25 The Relationship with Yourself: A Paradigm Shift ✨ I’m Hilary Silver, LCSW, former psychotherapist turned master coach and founder of Ready for Love. You’ve spent years on personal growth and self-improvement, so why do you still feel stuck in the same patterns? You’ve read the books. You’ve done the therapy. You know your attachment style, your childhood wounds, and exactly why you do what you do. But self-awareness doesn’t automatically create change. On The Ready for Love Podcast, Hilary gets into why personal growth can stall even when you’re doing all the “right” things. Sometimes you’re using the wrong method. Sometimes you have the wrong person helping you. And sometimes the answer is harder to swallow: you know what needs to change, but you’re not actually doing it. There’s another question worth asking: Has working on yourself become part of your identity? Getting help was never supposed to be the goal. The goal is to solve the problem and move on. Real change happens when you take what you’ve learned in therapy, coaching, books, and journaling and actually use it. Tell the truth. Have the hard conversation. Take the feedback. Do the uncomfortable thing. If you’re responsible for what happens next, you’re also the person who can change it. Episode Highlights: Why self-awareness doesn’t guarantee change The three reasons personal growth can stall Relief versus actually resolving the problem When “working on yourself” becomes an identity What being truly ready for change looks like Episode Breakdown: 00:00 Understanding Personal Growth and Stagnation 03:03 Levels of Awareness in Personal Development 05:57 Identifying the Right Tools for Change 08:53 The Role of Helpers in Personal Growth 12:12 Taking Radical Responsibility for Change 15:04 Readiness and Self-Devotion in Growth ✨ I’m Hilary Silver, LCSW, former psychotherapist turned master coach and founder of Ready for Love. Some of the most impressive women you know are keeping their best stories way too quiet. We’re taught to be humble, play it cool, and avoid sounding full of ourselves. So we leave out the part where we built the business, made the comeback, crushed the goal, or became someone we’re damn proud of. On The Ready for Love Podcast, Hilary Silver makes the case for a better kind of female friendship. If your friend won’t brag about herself, do it for her. Hilary shares the story of a retreat where nine successful women finally said the things they normally leave out, plus the moment a close friend reminded her how powerful it feels to have someone else tell the full truth about who you are. Women supporting women can look like encouragement, loyalty, and showing up when life gets hard. It can also look like saying, “Do you have any idea how incredible she is?” Be the friend who says it out loud! Episode Highlights: Why successful women tend to downplay their accomplishments What supportive friendship looks like beyond the hard moments Why your friends may see your greatness more clearly than you do How celebrating other women can change the energy in a room The simple habit that can make someone feel truly seen Episode Breakdown 00:00 The Power of Connection at the Retreat 02:47 Bragging Rights: The Importance of Self-Recognition 06:00 The Awkwardness of Sharing Success 08:53 Bragging on Others: The Role of True Friendship 12:12 Celebrating Each Other's Greatness 15:05 Creating a Culture of Collaboration and Celebration ✨ I’m Hilary Silver, LCSW, former psychotherapist turned master coach and founder of Ready for Love. The words "how dare you" have been running your life since childhood, and Hilary Silver wants you to steal them back. That phrase usually started with a parent, a sibling comparison, or a cultural expectation that taught you to stay small. Here's the thing: nobody has to say it to you anymore. You're doing it to yourself every time you consider asking for more, resting without guilt, or taking up space you've already earned. I call this playing defense against your own life. So let's flip the question. What if "how dare you" became "I dare you"? What would you actually say, wear, or ask for if you stopped editing yourself for everyone else's comfort? On this episode of Ready for Love, I'm sharing two moments from my own life where I chose daring over "acceptable," plus the mantra that gets me through hesitation to this day. Daring isn't a trait you're born with. It's a decision you make over and over, until that old voice loses its grip. Episode Highlights: Where "how dare you" really comes from, and why it was never about you The moment self-judgment turns into self-sabotage The one-word flip that turns doubt into a challenge Two stories from Hilary's life where she chose daring over "acceptable" The mantra Hilary swears by when she feels herself shrinking Episode Breakdown 00:00 Reclaiming Power: The Impact of 'How Dare You' 05:43 Transforming Doubt: From 'How Dare You' to 'I Dare You' 07:38 The Mantra That Fuels Confidence 10:27 Embracing Daring: The Path to Personal Evolution ✨ I’m Hilary Silver, LCSW, former psychotherapist turned master coach and founder of Ready for Love.
