Setting a goal can feel exciting, but excitement alone cannot carry you through the days when progress feels slow, doubt begins speaking, or an old pattern tempts you to stop. In this continuation of Only 30 Days to an Entirely New Reality, Kelli explains how to turn a meaningful goal into a process you can follow. You will learn why achieving a goal requires both an execution plan and an identity plan and how these two plans work together to help you continue after the initial excitement fades. Your execution plan identifies what you want to accomplish, the strategy you will use, the repeated actions that support it, and when those actions will happen. Your identity plan prepares you to recognize the beliefs, emotions, and behaviors that may surface as you begin asking more of yourself. In this episode, you will learn: The difference between a vision and a measurable goal The four parts of an execution plan How to choose a strategy that fits your current season How to turn your intentions into scheduled, repeatable actions Why every meaningful goal creates an identity question How your language can reinforce an old identity or support a new one How to prepare for the moment an old pattern appears How to create evidence that strengthens the identity you are practicing How to use an Evidence Book or Proof Journal during your 30-day practice Your Exercise Choose one meaningful goal and create two plans. Execution Plan What specific result am I working toward? What strategy will I use? What repeated actions does that strategy require? When will I complete those actions? Identity Plan Who am I practicing being as I pursue this goal? What old belief or behavior is likely to appear? How will I respond when it appears? What action can I complete today that creates evidence? At the end of each day, record what you completed, what you learned, and one moment that reflects the identity you are practicing. Every completed action—and every decision to return after a missed day—becomes evidence. What would you practice today if you truly knew you could grow into the person you’ve been praying to become? You may have a goal that keeps coming back to your heart, even as familiar doubts influence how you approach it. In this episode, we explore how your beliefs about yourself shape your decisions and how intentional daily actions can help you begin building a different understanding of who you are. I’m sharing four practices to bring into the next thirty days: choosing one meaningful goal, protecting your attention, responding thoughtfully to doubt, and expressing gratitude through action. Together, we’ll connect faith, identity, and the everyday choices that give your growth a place in your life. In this episode, we explore: How to identify the deeper reason behind your goal so you have something meaningful to return to when following through becomes inconvenient. How comparison and other people’s opinions can pull your attention away from your own progress. A simple practice for pausing, naming your concern, and choosing your next step when doubt appears. How confirmation bias can reinforce familiar beliefs and cause you to overlook evidence of your growth. How identity statements become more meaningful when you connect them to specific actions. Faith, prayer, and Mark 11:24, with reflection on how you live after you have prayed. How gratitude and a flexible approach can support your next steps. Your thirty-day practice Choose one goal, write down why it matters, and identify the person you want to practice being as you work toward it. Each day, choose a manageable action, decide when you’ll complete it, and record what you did and learned. Review your progress weekly and make adjustments as needed. Keep this question with you: “What would I practice today if I truly knew I could grow into the person I’ve been praying to become?” Continue listening How to Rewire Your Subconscious Mind and Get Rid of Limiting Beliefs for Good Let’s stay connected Join our Email list and Facebook group and tell us the goal you’re choosing and the identity you’re practicing through it. Before anyone told you who you were, something was already true about you. So where does identity begin? In this episode of The Resurrection Room with Kelli Shaw, Kelli goes beneath the labels, roles, accomplishments, failures, and survival patterns we often mistake for identity. We explore the difference between original identity and acquired identity, including how experiences become interpretations, interpretations become beliefs, and repeated beliefs become part of the way we see ourselves. You’ll hear how this process connects to Kelli’s identity framework: Identity shapes your perception. Your perception dictates your behavior. Your behavior drives your actions. Your actions produce your outcomes. The problem begins when the identity driving this cycle was formed through rejection, fear, comparison, financial struggle, criticism, abandonment, or the need to earn love and approval. A belief such as “my voice causes problems,” “I’m bad with money,” “I never finish anything,” or “I have to hold everything together” starts as a conclusion. After enough repetition, it begins to feel like personality. But what if the identity you’ve practiced isn’t the identity you were created to carry? In this episode, we explore: How acquired identities form through childhood, relationships, experiences, and repetition Why an experience and the meaning you assign to the experience are two different things How identity influences what you notice, expect, avoid, and pursue Why old identities keep producing familiar outcomes The connection between purpose and identity What Scripture teaches about being known and formed by God before receiving the opinions of others How to separate who you are from who you learned to become How to begin living from a purpose-rooted identity without pretending you’ve already mastered everything You’ll also receive a two-list reflection exercise for identifying the beliefs and labels you acquired, tracing where they began, and naming the deeper qualities connected to who you believe you were created to be. This week, ask yourself: Who was I before I learned to evaluate myself through other people’s responses? What remains true about me when nobody is applauding? What does my purpose reveal about my identity? And where did I learn the beliefs I’ve been calling “who I am”? Your purpose didn’t appear when you finally became confident enough to pursue it. And the woman equipped to carry it didn’t appear yesterday. She has been there from the beginning. How to Adopt a Millionaire Identity Most people allow their current circumstances to tell them who they are. They look at an unfinished project and decide they are inconsistent. They remember an opportunity they were afraid to pursue and conclude they lack courage. They look at their present income and allow a number to become a verdict on their future capacity. Once these conclusions become part of your identity, your mind begins collecting evidence to support them. You notice every moment that confirms the belief and discount the experiences that contradict it. In this episode, Kelli explains why building a million-dollar business requires more than increasing your workload. Moving from $100,000 to $1 million often requires a new relationship with value, leverage, visibility, uncertainty, responsibility, and self-trust. A millionaire identity does not wait for present evidence to grant her permission. She chooses beliefs that allow her to create different evidence. In This Episode, You’ll Discover How past behavior becomes a limiting identity when you turn an event into a permanent definition Why “I did not finish” and “I am someone who never finishes” create two very different futures The identity shift commonly required to move from personal effort to scalable value Why present results measure what has already happened without determining what can happen next How self-beliefs influence what you notice, attempt, interpret, and sustain Why visibility may feel threatening when your identity says your voice does not matter How to create believable evidence for a new identity through repeated behavior The difference between looking successful and developing the capacity to carry success How Kelli speaks into the podcast from the belief that The Resurrection Room is reaching millions of listeners One action you can take within 24 hours to begin practicing your millionaire identity The Core Teaching Identity shapes your perception. Perception dictates your behavior. Behavior drives your actions. Actions produce outcomes. We work from the top down. Identity is always first. Your circumstances can provide useful information, but they do not get to assign your identity. When you stop asking your past to predict your capacity, you become available for decisions that can produce different evidence. Reflection Question What does the woman who can create, hold, and multiply a million dollars believe about herself that I am ready to practice believing now? Choose one belief that changes the meaning of your next move: I finish the work that matters. My voice becomes stronger through use. I can make wise decisions without having perfect information. I create value, and I allow myself to be well compensated for it. I can learn to manage what I am asking to receive. Your One Action Take one millionaire-identity action within the next 24 hours. Send the proposal. Publish the offer. Review the numbers. Ask for the introduction. Finish the page. Schedule the sales conversation. Delegate the task someone else can carry. Choose one action the future version of you would recognize as consistent with who she is—and complete it before your present circumstances talk you out of it. Last week, we talked about Joshua and what happens when life changes so dramatically that the identity you’ve been living from can no longer carry you forward. Moses died. Joshua became the leader. His circumstances changed before he had time to decide whether he was ready. That kind of disruption can create a powerful neuroplasticity window. But what happens when there is no crisis? Do you have to wait until something falls apart before your brain becomes available for meaningful change? No. Your brain also changes through repetition, and that means you can participate in shaping your identity before circumstances force you to. In Part 2 of this conversation, we explore the other side of neuroplasticity: how small, consistent experiences can teach your brain something new about who you are. Your brain learns patterns from what you repeatedly think, notice, interpret, and do. Over time, those experiences become familiar, and familiarity influences what your brain expects from you. This is why we always come back to the same principle inside The Resurrection Room: Identity shapes your perception. Your perception dictates your behavior. Your behavior drives your actions. And your actions produce your outcomes. If you keep trying to change the outcome without addressing the identity producing it, you can work incredibly hard and still find yourself recreating familiar patterns. In this episode, we talk about what happens when you move back to the beginning of the chain. You’ll learn why repetition is so important to neuroplasticity, why a changed circumstance doesn’t automatically create a changed identity, how Joshua experienced both disruption and repetition, and how small behaviors can become lived evidence that challenges an identity you have carried for years. Most importantly, I’m giving you one practice for the next seven days: Choose one small behavior that gives your brain evidence for the identity you are building. You aren't trying to overhaul your entire life this week. You're collecting evidence. Seven days. Seven experiences that give your brain another reason to consider: Maybe this is who we are now. Unlocking Your Leadership Identity: Lessons from Joshua's Journey Exploring identity, perception, and transformation through neuroscience. When the only leader you've ever known is suddenly gone, it can feel like the ground beneath your feet has disappeared. This moment, faced by Joshua after Moses' death, is one we can all relate to in some form. It’s about deciding who you will become when everything you’ve built your identity around is stripped away. The Call to Lead Joshua’s challenge was monumental: to lead a nation into uncharted territory after 40 years of wandering. It’s a pivotal moment, where he had to transform from the assistant to the leader. Kelli Shaw dives deep into this transition, emphasizing that it’s not just about taking on a new role; it’s about reshaping one’s identity. "Do you choose success or mediocrity? Do you become like everyone else or do you choose to build something that's unmistakably yours?" The Neuroscience of Change Kelli proposes that the story of Joshua is more than a biblical tale; it serves as a blueprint for personal transformation. She highlights five commands given to Joshua, which serve as a protocol for rewiring the brain: 1. **Be strong and courageous** - Acknowledging and regulating fear is crucial. 2. **Observe and do everything written in the law** - Action is key; belief without action is ineffective. 3. **Do not turn from the left or the right** - Focus is essential for clarity and purpose. 4. **Let this book not depart from your mouth** - Verbalizing your intentions solidifies commitment. 5. **Meditate on it day and night** - Repetition builds new pathways in the brain. Kelli explains that our brains are more malleable during times of change, a phenomenon known as heightened neuroplasticity. Just as fresh snow can be molded easily, our minds are most receptive when faced with novelty or crisis. Identity Reshaped The crux of Kelli's message is that true transformation begins at the identity level. Joshua had to move from being known as Moses' assistant to embracing his new identity as a leader. God reassured him, stating, "As I was with Moses, so I will be with you." This affirmation laid a strong foundation for Joshua's new role. Kelli emphasizes that it’s essential to reshape perception alongside identity. Joshua faced daunting realities, but the way he interpreted those challenges depended heavily on his new identity. By staying grounded in God’s word and continuously speaking it aloud, he retrained his mind to focus on possibilities rather than limitations. "God is teaching Joshua what to continually place before his mind so that God's word, rather than the circumstances, shapes how he perceives what he sees." Reflection Kelli Shaw's insights remind us that moments of change, though uncomfortable, can be the breeding ground for profound growth. By aligning our identity with our purpose and continuously engaging with our beliefs, we can navigate transitions more effectively. Consider what identities you're holding onto and what new paths you might forge. For a deeper dive into this transformative process and the neuroscience behind it, tune into the full episode of the Resurrection Room. Before you close this out — two quick things. This kind of change was never meant to happen in isolation — half of what actually moves the needle isn't the teaching, it's having somewhere to say out loud what you're working through and have someone nod back. Your Upper Limit: Can Your Identity Hold the Life You’re Asking For? What happens when the life you’ve been asking for finally begins to arrive—but part of you doesn’t know how to live there yet? You get the opportunity. The business grows. The money increases. Your work gets noticed. The door opens. And then something unexpected happens. You start worrying. You procrastinate. You question yourself. You pull back. You create a problem where there wasn’t one before. In this episode of The Resurrection Room, Kelli explores two powerful concepts from Gay Hendricks’ The Big Leap: the Upper Limit Problem and the Zone of Genius. Hendricks proposes that we can develop an internal ceiling for how much success, love, abundance, happiness, and positive experience we comfortably allow ourselves to experience. When life begins expanding beyond that familiar level, we may unconsciously engage in behaviors that bring us back toward what feels normal. But what if the problem isn’t your ability to create a bigger life? What if your identity hasn’t yet developed the capacity to hold it? In This Episode Kelli explores: What Gay Hendricks means by the Upper Limit Problem Why success itself can sometimes trigger fear, worry, or self-sabotaging behavior The four hidden barriers Hendricks believes can limit our expansion Why belonging can become an invisible barrier to success The difference between your Zone of Excellence and Zone of Genius Why being exceptionally good at something doesn't necessarily mean it's your highest contribution How familiar identity patterns can influence what feels normal Why an extraordinary outcome can feel uncomfortable when it conflicts with your existing self-concept How to turn new outcomes into evidence for a new identity Why identity transformation doesn't end when you get the result The Identity Loop Inside The Resurrection Room, we often work with this framework: Identity → Perception → Behavior → Actions → Outcomes But this episode adds an important final piece: Identity → Perception → Behavior → Actions → Outcomes → Identity Your outcome becomes evidence. The opportunity becomes evidence. The boundary you finally held becomes evidence. The room you walked into becomes evidence. The thing you accomplished becomes evidence. Transformation deepens when you allow those experiences to update what you believe about who you are. Instead of dismissing the breakthrough as luck, begin asking: What does this outcome reveal about who I am capable of being? Your Reflection Imagine that the next level you’ve been pursuing has already happened. You're standing inside the life you've been asking for. Now notice what happens internally. Where do you feel expansion? Where do you feel tension? What thoughts immediately appear? Then ask yourself: What part of this life still feels unfamiliar to me? And finally: Who would I have to believe I am for this life to feel normal? Sit with that question. Journal about it. Notice what comes up. Because you may no longer need to convince yourself that your next level is possible. You may need to expand your identity until you're capable of recognizing yourself inside it. Your Action This Week Make one move from your Zone of Genius. Choose the conversation, proposal, application, video, launch, pitch, decision, boundary, or idea you've been circling—and move. Then consciously acknowledge the evidence: This is who I am now. The goal isn't simply reaching your next level. It's developing the internal capacity to live there. 📚 Read The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks This episode was inspired in part by Gay Hendricks’ book, The Big Leap. Is your jaw tight right now? Your shoulders up near your ears? Part of your mind already three steps ahead of this moment? If so, your body has been running one program for so long it's forgotten there's another one available. That program is survival mode, and most of us have moved in and started decorating without ever noticing the shift. In this episode, Kelli breaks down the neuroscience of chronic stress through Dr. Dan Siegel's window of tolerance, Stephen Porges' polyvagal theory, and the real physical difference between a nervous system that's regulated and one that's stuck on high alert. You'll learn why your body can't tell the difference between a real emergency and an overflowing inbox, what's happening in your brain during hyperarousal and hypoarousal, and why rest has to be practiced on purpose long before you desperately need it. This episode weaves neuroscience with scripture, showing how "be still and know that I am God" is one of the oldest instructions for nervous system regulation on record, long before anyone had a word for cortisol or the vagus nerve. If you've been functioning, succeeding even, while running on empty the whole time, this episode is for you. What You'll Learn Why survival mode is a nervous system state, not a personality trait The three zones of the window of tolerance, and how to recognize which one you're standing in Why chronic stress narrows your window of tolerance, and what widens it back out Five practical ways to send your body real, repeated signals that the threat has passed What scripture has to say about rest as an active, intentional practice rather than something you earn Mentioned in This Episode Dr. Dan Siegel's Window of Tolerance framework Stephen Porges' Polyvagal Theory and the concept of neuroception Psalm 23:2 — "He makes me lie down in green pastures" Philippians 4:6 — "Be anxious for nothing" Psalm 46:10 — "Be still, and know that I am God" The Resurrection Room Mantra Identity shapes your perception.
