In August of 1994, Delores, "Dee Dee" Jackson was enjoying a new relationship after divorcing her high school Sweetheart, Tito Jackson. Don Bohana was twenty years Dee Dee's senior but had a good life and was by all accounts besotted with the beautiful Dee Dee. While they had only been together a few months, Dee Dee kept three bathing suits at Don's home for late night swims in the Jacuzzi or the full sized pool. Don said that Dee Dee could do an Olympic style turn in the pool. Her family said she was afraid of the water.
