Episode Description from the Publisher

Groups can attract those who are searching, those who are curious, those who are seekers. Unfortunately not all groups are ethical and some even morph into cults. The abuse can be severe with everything from sexual and physical to extreme mental and emotional abuse and almost always financial. Can you give your time, energy, money to something you believe in? if you are of adult age then of course. But when you are born and raised into a thought system that feels counter intuitive to your own body, mind, spirit thats when things get complicated. A small group of people were able to be swayed by a not that smart shyster who convinced grown adults much smarter than him to turn over their wives, daughters and money to him as he proclaimed he was the new prophet of the FLDS church. "Trust Me," is an amalgam of some home videos that were shot by a couple who were trying to save a group of women and girls from being under the spell of a ridiculous narcissist who had never done anything with his own life. The rest of the footage and editing was done by a documentary film crew and while it leaves much to be desired it is a fascinating look into a world few of us have been a part of or can even imagine. Now on Netflix 3.5* for effort Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.
