Velvet Spritz: Calm, Focused, and Ready to Get Sh*t Done
What’s in the bag today? Velvet Spritz—with a Z—from Grassroots.This indica-leaning hybrid crosses Romulan Grapefruit with Kush Mints. The flower came as smaller popcorn buds and was a little dry, but it still had some give and smoked surprisingly well. Its aroma starts subtly sweet before becoming much more earthy, musky, and slightly piney in the vaporizer. If you’re expecting a mouthful of grapefruit candy, calm down. That isn’t what we found in this batch.The dominant terpenes include beta-caryophyllene, alpha-pinene, myrcene, limonene, and beta-pinene. Together, they produced an unusual combination of calm and focus. Velvet Spritz didn’t make us sleepy or completely relax the body. It felt focused, thoughtful, and pleasantly elevated, although the pinene created some head and neck tension for us. In a joint, that tension was less noticeable and the overall experience felt better.This may also be a useful base strain to combine with something more physically relaxing. Linalool: More Than the “Sleepy Lavender” Terpene
Today we’re landing in the terps and breaking down linalool, that sweet, floral, slightly spicy terpene most commonly associated with lavender.For years, we thought lavender meant one thing: somebody was trying to put us to sleep. But linalool is more complicated than that. Finding it in a strain doesn’t automatically mean you’ll be unconscious ten minutes later. Blue Lobster Strain Review: Our Favorite Hybrid of 2026?
Welcome back to Cannabis School! Today, Brandon and Jesse review Blue Lobster by Grassroots, an indica-leaning hybrid currently swimming around Utah’s medical cannabis market.A member of the Cannabis School community helped make this review possible, so thank you for supporting the show and giving us another strain to break down!Blue Lobster crosses Apples and Bananas with Eye Candy. The batch reviewed comes in around 23% THC, along with minor cannabinoids including CBGA, CBCA, THCV, and CBDA. Once again, it proves that THC percentage is only one small piece of the experience.The container may feel cheap, but the flower inside tells a different story. These popcorn buds are small, dense, squishy, and surprisingly fresh. The aroma and flavor bring sweet fruit, citrus, earth, musk, and a little gas without becoming overly sharp or peppery.The experience is where Blue Lobster really earns its claws.This strain feels calm, euphoric, social, and incredibly present. It quiets the unnecessary noise without completely shutting down the mind. Instead of sending thoughts in every direction, Blue Lobster makes it easier to stay immersed in the conversation or activity directly in front of you.Physically, the body feels relaxed without becoming useless. Both hosts report a major reduction in their usual discomfort during the session, along with very little fidgeting. It may become sleepier with a larger amount, but at a moderate dose it feels surprisingly versatile.Morning, afternoon, conversation, gaming, relaxing, or winding down—this may be an anytime strain for the right consumer. Just remember: the more you consume, the more likely you are to catch what the guys lovingly call “the happy dumbs.”The commonly reported terpene profile includes myrcene, limonene, beta-caryophyllene, and linalool. In this batch, the earthy relaxation and citrus brightness work together beautifully. It settles the body without making the entire room feel dark.The final verdict? Blue Lobster is Brandon’s favorite hybrid of 2026 so far. Land of the Terps: What Is Nerolidol?
Welcome to the Land of the Terps! Cannabis School 101 is officially back, and this time Brandon and Jesse are going deeper than the usual THC percentage and strain name.Today’s lesson focuses on nerolidol, a minor terpene found in cannabis and aromatic plants such as jasmine, lemongrass, tea tree, ginger, and orange blossom. It is not usually one of the largest numbers on a cannabis label, but that does not mean it should be ignored.Nerolidol has a subtle aroma commonly described as woody, floral, green, earthy, and slightly sweet—almost like fresh bark. It exists in cis and trans forms and belongs to a class of compounds called sesquiterpenes.Why do plants produce terpenes in the first place? They were not created for humans to enjoy. Cheeee of Bandits Strain Review: Sweet, Spicy & Seriously Weird

Today, Brandon and Jesse review Cheee of Bandits by Pure Plan, a mysterious Utah cannabis strain with an unusual name and an experience that is even harder to explain.Despite what the name suggests, this flower does not arrive with an overwhelming cheese aroma. Instead, it produces a surprisingly sweet smell that becomes even more impressive as the vaporizer begins warming. The first taste reminds the guys of stevia: undeniably sweet, slightly strange, and difficult to place.The flower reviewed contains roughly 20% THC, along with minor cannabinoids including CBC and CBG. Its labeled terpene profile includes beta-caryophyllene, limonene, linalool, myrcene, and humulene. Together, they create a sweet, peppery flavor that eventually develops a gentle “sweet heat” across the tongue and throat.The initial experience is bright, floaty, giggly, and physically relaxing. Cheee of Bandits is not necessarily bad—it is just weird. Its aroma is incredible, the sweet-and-spicy flavor is memorable, and the opening effects are genuinely fun. The later head pressure makes it harder to recommend as an everyday strain, but curious sativa fans may enjoy trying something that does not feel like everything else on the shelf.Buying it on sale makes sense.
