This is the one episode I look forward to all year. It’s become a tradition to gather this specific group of friends - Parallel Mike, Hrvoje Morić, and PJ Buys - to close out the year, not just as commentators, but as brothers navigating the same storm. We sat down to unpack the chaos of the last twelve months, from the creeping reality of biometric controls to the undeniable shifts in our personal lives. But more than just analyzing the dystopia, this conversation is about how we keep our humanity intact through it all. We talk about fatherhood, faith, and the necessity of building real-world resilience when the digital walls start closing in.We discuss the importance of stepping back from the online noise, finding strength in our families, and why - even as the systems around us wobble - we are betting on the human spirit to pull through. It’s always an honor to share the mic with these gents, and I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did. In this conversation with Matt, better known as Plant Based Libertarian, I explore the rare intersection between veganism, libertarianism, and Christianity. What happens when freedom philosophy, compassion for animals, and faith in Christ converge into one worldview? We discuss how Seventh-Day Adventism connects to plant-based ethics, the philosophy of the non-aggression principle extended to all living beings, and why living closer to nature might be more spiritual - and freer - than most people realize. From moral absolutism and societal shadow work to the temptations of food and the call to return to the land, we dig deep into what it means to live authentically. In this episode, I talk with pastor and writer Seth Troutt about masculinity, faith, and what it really means to grow up as a man in today’s world. Seth shares his thoughts on humility, discipline, responsibility, and chivalry — not in some polished, self-help way, but through real examples of marriage, fatherhood, and faith. We also get into things like breaking family patterns, why rites of passage matter, and what’s drawing people back to church lately. It’s an honest conversation about becoming the men we’re meant to be, struggling through the trials that shape us, and finding steady ground in a culture that doesn’t offer much of it. Chapters - Seth Troutt on his background and calling - The four virtues of masculinity - Marriage and the making of a man - Humility and the lessons of fatherhood - Breaking generational patterns - Talking about toxic masculinity - The need for rites of passage - Building family traditions of discipline and faith - Marriage growth and spiritual maturity - Seth’s journey into faith and pastoring - The return of faith in modern culture - Spiritual warfare and hope in Christ Please help to share out the episode! Reaching the 100th episode feels like crossing a threshold. In this conversation with returning guest and good friend Parallel Mike, I wanted to go deeper — into faith, family, and the fragility of our financial world. We explore what it means to stay grounded in a time when everything feels inverted — from collapsing economies and manipulated markets, to the erosion of values that once defined the West. We talk about marriage, fatherhood, and the personal responsibility required to build meaning in a world that rewards distraction and decay. Mike shares his warnings about the coming financial reset and the quiet construction of digital control systems. I question whether faith, consciousness, and discernment are the only anchors we have left. It’s a conversation about facing what’s coming — and rediscovering what’s real. Chapters: - Financial collapse and the coming Western crisis - Reflections on reaching episode 100 - Introducing Parallel Mike - Home birth, farming life, and personal growth - Fatherhood and raising discerning children - Marriage, responsibility, and breaking social psyops - The sacred bond of marriage versus modern hedonism - Faith, morality, and loss of sacred values in the West - Choosing the right partner and building virtue - Technology and disconnection in relationships - Covid as a test of values and trust - The housing crisis and “gutting the system” - Digital ID, dependence, and the new bondage cycle - Spiritual revival, The Fourth Turning, and cycles of faith - Financial collapse, tokenized control, and the great taking - Closing reflections and staying free through discipline Please help to share out the episode! Lately I’ve been thinking about how faith, finance, and freedom intersect - and how easily we lose ourselves in the systems we build. When my friend and collaborator Wyatt O’Rourke came on, I knew our talk would go deep. Wyatt’s journey from traditional finance to founding a Bitcoin wealth management firm isn’t just a story about money - it’s about waking up. We explored how broken incentives shape academia and economics, why self-custody may be the last form of sovereignty left, and how spiritual renewal might be the missing piece in rebuilding trust and morality in a post-fiat world. Beyond Bitcoin, we talked fatherhood, moral courage, and finding God again. Wyatt’s reflections on faith and stewardship remind me that the real revolution is not a digital or financial one, but a spiritual one. Chapters: - Introduction and opening monologue - Wyatt O’Rourke joins the conversation - Founding Basilic Financial and discovering Bitcoin - Lessons from traditional finance and academic brainwashing - COVID, disillusionment, and the awakening of critical thought - The moral decay of academia and rise of socialism - Why socialism fails and the spiritual void it creates - The Bitcoinization of finance and the flaws of fiat systems - Treasury companies, ETFs, and the illusion of paper Bitcoin - Self-custody, corruption, and the importance of moral ownership - BlackRock, power consolidation, and the new digital hierarchy - The “Core vs. Knots” debate and the state of the Bitcoin protocol - Faith, fatherhood, and the rediscovery of purpose - Moral responsibility, stewardship, and strong men in hard times - The return to faith and rejection of secular nihilism - Christianity, sacrifice, and understanding spiritual warfare - The family as the foundation of freedom - Building honest communities and closing reflections Please help to share out the episode! What happens when a society forgets its roots and lives only for comfort, consumption, and distraction? In this conversation with RichardTheFourth, I explore the profound questions at the heart of modernity, identity, and the search for meaning. We talk about the decline of liberalism as the framing principle of Western identity, the dangers of a hollowed‑out spirituality, and how traditions—whether Christian, pagan, or deeply cultural—hold the key to reconnecting with what is sacred. Richard takes us into the deeper frames that politics alone cannot touch: the balance of masculine and feminine energy, the role of myth and story in anchoring a people, and the challenge of rediscovering roots in a fragmented world. From the Shire in Tolkien’s vision to the streets of modern Britain, this is a conversation about what must be defended, what must be awakened, and what it truly means to belong to a culture in the midst of upheaval. Chapters - RichardTheFourth: background, early life, and channel origins - From commentary experiment to deeper traditionalist themes - On creativity, daily content, and riffing with current events - Defining the turning point: end of the liberal project - Tradition vs ideology: myth, meaning, and sacred order - Christianity, pagan roots, and the European spiritual inheritance - Masculine and feminine imbalance in modern Christianity - Britain’s demographic and cultural shifts: Leicester as example - Tolkien’s Shire, the Eye of Sauron, and defending innocence - Cycles of decline and renewal: is it too late for the West? - Nation, state, and the clash between free markets and tradition - Final reflections: awakening, leadership, and living tradition Please help to share out the episode! "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink." A recent post on X discussed the stark reality of our generation's financial woes, specifically the staggering loss of purchasing power in the pound. My reply, perhaps blunt to some, pointed out a different truth: despite the challenges, we are the first generation in over 10,000 years uniquely positioned to embrace a superior form of money - Bitcoin, and that we should be embracing that massive opportunity rather than focusing all our attention on our disadvantages. The reaction to my perspective was (predictably) largely negative. This episode is my attempt to unpack the initial tweet, aiming to add the nuance often lost on X. It’s a chance to explain why I believe our generation, though dealt a difficult hand, has also been handed a rare opportunity, one that most seem reluctant to grasp. I dive into why Bitcoin represents a once-in-10,000-year event, how it fundamentally contrasts with the traps of fiat and altcoins, and why conviction, humility, and education are small prices to pay for for the chance to capitalise on this rare monetary changing of the guard. I also tackle the most persistent objections head-on: volatility, scams, energy consumption, and the pervasive misconception that "it's worth nothing." What surprised me most about the reaction was the sheer volume of misconceptions still circulating, even within circles I might have considered more informed. It's a reminder that sometimes we operate within our own bubbles, unaware of the mainstream narratives still permeating public consciousness. My hope is that this episode can help illuminate some of these fears and misunderstandings for those still on the fence, offering a clearer path through the noise. This solo episode was my hardest yet. After nearly four years of hosting the State Food Podcast, I’ve come to appreciate how much energy it takes to show up authentically for every conversation. Lately, life’s pace and the demands of travel and business have tested my passion reserve, and I want to share that struggle openly. Thank you for sticking with me through the pauses and the peaks. In this episode, I step away from guest interviews to reflect on a deeper shift: our collective loss of faith in institutions and the subtle strategies those in power use to channel fear. I trace the moment COVID pulled back the curtain on authority, and how that awakening has reshaped the way we view government, media, and each other. It’s a personal account of what happens when trust breaks and what it takes to rebuild it from the ground up. I also revisit the long arc of human power dynamics, from hunter-gatherer tribes to modern-day states, highlighting how systems of protection can morph into systems of extortion and reflecting on the rise of taxation, regulation, and corporate lobbying - all tools of monopoly that steer our lives in ways we rarely notice. Finally, I lay out a roadmap for radical decentralization. I explain why Bitcoin represents more than just an investment - it’s an uncompromising blueprint for a liberated monetary system - and why our conversations must move off centralized platforms before they vanish. For those who aren't already familiar, I'm introducing you to nostr, the truly censorship-resistant protocol I’m embracing, and invite you to start building the parallel world we’ll need when the next storm arrives.
