On April 22, 2026, Carroll County deputies responded around 10:25 p.m. to a shooting at a home on West 14th Street in Carrollton, Missouri. Inside they found 75-year-old Gayle R. Wilson dead from a gunshot wound to the head. Still on scene was her 28-year-old grandson, Dakota Alexander Sweeney — cousin of Wes Wilson — who was arrested without incident.
