He is also Co-Director of Critical Therapy Antidote, an international network focused on preserving the core therapeutic ethos of psychotherapy. He trained at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, with clinical experience at McLean OCD Institute, Hartgrove Hospital, and Aspire Indiana. His work focuses on how ideology shapes psychotherapy and its impact on the conditions necessary for psychological healing. He has written for Critical Therapy Antidote and presented at Heterodox Academy on using cognitive-behavioural tools to support viewpoint diversity.Michael is also a co-host of the Critical Therapy Antidote Podcast, where he explores the intersection of culture, ideology, and clinical practice.Jaco van Zyl, MA (Clinical Psychology), is a South Africa-trained clinical psychologist and psychoanalytic psychotherapist in private practice, living in Ireland. Jaco has a special interest in both individual and group psychology, and uses a psychoanalytic lens to explore the psychology of ideology, particularly of Critical Social Justice (CSJ). Natalya Murakhver is a documentary filmmaker, writer, and co-founder of Restore Childhood, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on children's education, health, and parental rights advocacy. She directs and produces documentary films through Restore Childhood and as a fellow at Palladium Pictures, and writes for the New York Post and her Substack, Restore Childhood.Born in the Soviet Union and raised in America from age six, Natalya came to filmmaking the way many of the best stories begin — from lived urgency. When New York City schools closed during the pandemic, she founded #KeepNYCSchoolsOpen and filed a lawsuit against Mayor de Blasio to reopen them. Wiener is a licensed Clinical Psychologist based in Worcester, Massachusetts. He obtained his doctoral degree from Clark University in 1979. For over two decades, he was the Clinical Director of Mental Health Services at a community health center where he supervised a large staff of clinicians and graduate students. Dr. Wiener is the author of three books on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and he has presented his work at national and state conventions for Psychologists and Social Workers. His current book, Backyard Politics: A Psychological Understanding of Today’s Political and Social Divide is a culmination of his clinical experience, which has helped him gain insight into the way we cope and resolve problems. Erik Lidström holds an MSc and a PhD in physics from Uppsala University, Sweden, and an MBA from the Open University, UK. This project began as a way to call out ideological bias in counselor education specifically (and in education more generally) and has expanded to an examination of many aspects of our contemporary culture. The ideology that calls itself "social justice" is an attempt to revolutionize and replace western values with a culture of envy, victimhood, and entitlement. As individuals, we can choose to accept this though we know it's wrong, for the sake of conflict avoidance- or we can take a stand. What kind of person makes each choice? How do we find the strength to resist groupthink?
