When a man tested my patience

I was at a thrift store not long ago. It was midday and busy. I found a nail gun in a camera bag. I got in line a few feet from a man with a bike helmet. Behind me was a woman with kids and lots of others.That’s when the man said, “He’s so close to me. He think I’m his (profanity).” He then turned to me and said, “I ain’t your (profanity),” My blood boiled. This grown man was talking to another grown man. The cashier’s eyes widened. she mumbled, “Let it go.” So I did. In a few moments, he took his bag, and he left.I paid my bill as the cashier sighed. I told her, “Life goes on.” “It’s short,” she said. She’s right, of course.What would you have done?The best conversations are two-way streets.
