All my colony increases are as a result of splits and supported by frames of capped brood from taken swarms. Varroa Resistant Queens are reared from colonies that also display strong over wintering, early build up …..so great personalities. The creation of nucleus colonies that over winter well allows a beekeeper to start the year even before new mated queens come available.Planning for Spring 2024 is my thought process through the route to full apiaries with large colonies in readiness for spring foraging. It’s all down to the start the over wintered nucs provide. This is a public episode. I felt the podcast would be too long if I included it at the end.As with all podcasts please hit the like button, make a comment and share if you can.
