#408 Biblical or Cultish? Examining the "Anointed Man" Church Leadership Model

What does the Bible actually teach about church leadership—and what happens when a pastor is treated as “God’s anointed man” whose board exists to strengthen his hand rather than hold him accountable? In this episode, I respond to anepisode of the Resurge podcast hosted by pastors Josh Howerton and Josh McPherson, in which they lay out their vision for building a “wartime church.” I compare their model of leadership with the New Testament qualifications and responsibilities of elders and deacons, Jesus’ teaching on servant leadership, and the biblical warnings against domineering leadership.I also explains why I connected aspects of their leadership model with the New Apostolic Reformation and address criticism that I should have handled my concerns privately under Matthew 18.Rather than asking you take my word for it, I encourage Christians to listen to the full context, open their Bibles, and ask a crucial question: Is this how the New Testament describes leadership in Christ’s church?-----------------------------------------------------------------This video is sponsored by:A'DEL NATURAL COSMETICSElevate your skincare routine with A'del's toxin-free cosmetics. Experience the difference in quality and purity. Go to www.adelnaturalcosmetics.com for more information. Use my code: ALISA FOUNDATION WORLDVIEWFoundation Worldview creates curriculum series that will empower your child to thinkBiblically in a deceptive world. Go to www.foundationworldview.com for more information.Use my code: ALISABRAVE BOOKSEntertainment that Engages the Imagination for Good.  Go to www.bravebooks.com/childers for more informationUse my code: CHILDERS----------------------------------------------------------------------Booking: www.alisachilders.com/bookingTo Purchase the new CD, “Beauty from the Ash”, go to www.alisachilders.com/musicThere you can get the CD, backing tracks, string charts, rhythm charts and stems.Support us on Patreon:  www.patreon.com/alisachildersTo order “Another Gospel”:  www.alisachilders.com/another-gospel/To order “Live Your Truth":  www.alisachilders.com/live-your-truth-and-other-lies/To order “The Deconstruction of Christianity”: https://alisachilders.com/the-deconstruction-of-christianity/Potential Sponsors: https://alisachilders.com/sponsor-request-form/
