Ezekiel 33:7-11“Am I my brother’s keeper?” Cain meant the question as an excuse: My brother isn’t my problem. But Scripture gives an unexpected answer: Yes, I am my brother’s keeper. In Ezekiel 33:7–11, God appoints Ezekiel as a watchman and holds him accountable for warning people in spiritual danger because God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked. He wants sinners to turn and live, and that saving heart led him to give his own Son for us.We are not called to Ezekiel’s prophetic office, but Christ does call us to care for one another. Christian love does not simply mind its own business. With repentance, maturity, and courage, we lovingly warn, restore, encourage, and point one another back to Jesus—the Savior who cared enough to come after us and give us life.
