Unexpected Truths - Grace Is Amazing - September 20, 2026

Jonah 3:10-4:11We have a strong sense that people should get what they deserve. That sounds like justice—until we start wanting grace for ourselves and judgment for everyone else. Jonah was furious when God shows mercy to the wicked city of Nineveh. Through Jonah’s anger and God’s lesson with a simple plant, we see just how easily our own sense of justice becomes selective. But we also see something far greater: a God who is perfectly just and astonishingly gracious. In Jesus, God gives sinners what they could never deserve—forgiveness, life, and mercy. Grace really is amazing.
