Can Vanderbilt Upset Ole Miss? Locked On Vandy Makes The Case | Final Score?

If Saturday turns into a rain game, the temptation is to hand the ball off and hide the quarterback. That's the wrong lesson. In Gainesville, Steven counted four straight handoffs in a 52-28 loss, and against LSU it ran for 63 yards and still won because Trinidad Chambliss threw for 363. Locked On Vandy's Corey Burton says Vandy's plan is to hit Chambliss; Ole Miss's should be to keep the ball in his hands. Two days to Ole Miss at Vanderbilt. Saturday, 2:30 PM CT / 3:30 PM ET, ESPN. Steven Willis and Corey Burton of Locked On Vandy work both sides of Ole Miss at Vanderbilt: the storm, Kewan Lacy's pitch count, Vandy's quarterback shuffle, the players to watch, each team's path and a final score from each. ⏱️ CHAPTERS0:00 Ole Miss-Vanderbilt: the rivalry that went away4:02 Tropical storm watch: is the wind the bigger worry?5:22 After Florida, and Kewan Lacy's pitch count7:12 Vanderbilt's offense is still looking for an identity8:29 Why didn't Vandy start Jared Curtis from day one?13:56 Vanderbilt players to watch: Junior Sherrill and more14:32 Ole Miss players to watch: Johntay Cook, Perkins16:58 The tackling epidemic, and when the want-to hits18:14 Track-meet potential and Vandy's plan for Chambliss23:00 Ole Miss's path: play clean, let Chambliss be Chambliss23:32 Vanderbilt's path: haymaker, haymaker, haymaker25:20 Final scores: 38-24 and 31-21 📌 THREE THINGS1. The rain is not a reason to hide the quarterback. Corey Burton says the wind may matter more than the rain if the storm holds tropical-storm strength, and Kewan Lacy is coming back on a pitch count; Pete Golding says he won't take "40 to 50 snaps." Steven's line: "Don't take the ball out of the hands of the best player in college football." 2. Vanderbilt still has no offensive identity. Burton: "this offense, Steve, has got to find an identity, and they don't have one yet." Vandy shuffled Blaze Berlowitz and five-star freshman Jared Curtis, then lost Curtis to injury, and Burton lists him as day-to-day. Steven's question: why wasn't Curtis starting from the opener? 3. The picks are in. Steven has Ole Miss 38-24, broken open by one big play against an eight-man blitz. Burton has Ole Miss 31-21 and says Vandy's only way to win is "haymaker, haymaker, haymaker," pressure from Miles Capers and Bryan Longwell on every snap. Vanderbilt held Georgia to 20 rushing yards in the first half and still lost by 24. 🦈 EVERYDAYER CLUB — ad-free plus the members-only room, 7-day free trial: https://lockedonolemiss.supercast.com💬 LOOM PRIVATE DISCORD — free to join: https://discord.gg/KF3dtcQJhC🌐 EVERYTHING ELSE: https://olemisshub.com🎧 EVERY PLATFORM: https://link.chtbl.com/LOOleMiss?sid=YouTube⚓ LOCKED ON VANDY with Corey Burton — wherever you get podcasts 📋 INDEED — Need to hire?
