We’re joined today by psychiatric physician’s assistant, Leighton Morgan, who grew up similar to our hosts in a fundamentalist religion, deconstructed, and found an embodied path. Leighton’s love of humanity drew her to psychiatry, but after the rigors of grad school followed by overtime professional hours, Leighton succumbed to burnout. She shares her journey of meeting Jamie and the somatic work she put into healing herself. Now, Leighton prides herself on working under capacity and having enough downtime to imagine new possibilities for her future–as a practitioner, a partner, a friend, and a connected community member.
