FAMILY: Fighting for What Matters Most

FAMILY 🤍 Of all the things we build in this life, few matter more than the relationships we build with one another. And they take work. They take forgiveness. Time. Teaching. Listening. Putting down our phones. Showing up again and again. This week on enLIGHTen, Megan from @defense_of_family joined me for a beautiful conversation about why family is worth fighting for. We talked about the prophetic power of The Family: A Proclamation to the World, the influence of parents and grandparents, the strength that comes through our ancestors and the temple, and the hope Jesus Christ gives us when our families don't look exactly as we hoped they would. One thought has stayed with me: Today is not eternity. God sees beyond the struggle we're experiencing right now. He sees generations. He sees what came before us and what can come after us. And through Jesus Christ, He is still working in our families—even when we can't yet see how the story will end. Family really is God's masterpiece. So put down the phone. Make the call. Sit around the table. Tell the stories. Say you're sorry. Go to the temple. Love the people God has placed in your life. Fight for what lasts forever.
