Jesus never promised a life without storms. He promised Himself. As Alma taught, when people turned to Christ, "their souls were illuminated by the light of the everlasting word" and "their souls did expand." Belief changes us. It loosens chains. Embark: Led by the Spirit
This week I got to visit with Clark and Kathleen Hinckley as together we explored how God reveals His will to ordinary people willing to trust Him. From Christopher Columbus crossing an unknown ocean, to Gutenberg preparing the way for scripture, to the Pilgrims seeking religious freedom, we see that the Lord has always guided His children one step at a time. I loved all these powerful historical insights showing how revelation often comes long before we understand the reason for it. When venturing into the unknown we too can follow the quiet guidance of the Holy Ghost— who not only teaches us new truth, but reminds us of the truth already written on our hearts.
