FSD v14.3.9 First Impressions Drive

We take the Model Y out on FSD 14.3.9 to test the new automatic collision evasion feature and see how it handles our regular route. Along the drive we look at highway lane change behavior, unprotected left turns, and multiple parking scenarios. I also attempt to deliberately trigger the evasion feature on the highway and reflect on my recent CyberCab ride in Austin.Highlights:- Attempted twice to trigger automatic collision evasion by disengaging steering and looking into the back seat, but the feature did not activate- Successfully completed the unprotected left turn and followed immediately with a rolling U-turn without stopping- Observed highway lane changes in Hurry profile showing more urgency to clear the left lane alongside frequent blinker activity- Failed angled parking at Five Points when the occupancy network stopped the car six feet short of the curb, leaving the rear sticking into traffic- Evaluated the chain parking location twice, resulting in a severely misaligned back-in first attempt and a suspected geofenced stop on the second- Cleanly navigated around an open car door into the gore area and gave wide clearance to a pedestrian standing by a vehicle- Successfully backed into a Supercharger stall fully centered with no manual steering interventionSubscribe to @ChuckCook for continuous, detailed evaluations of Tesla Full Self-Driving builds.
