Today we take the Model Y out on version 14.3.10 to evaluate Bennett's waypoint app, run the unprotected left at Chuck's Corner, and check Chuck's chain. We also look at the front camera visibility alerts in the service menu and test various parking scenarios across town.Highlights:- Evaluating Bennett's waypoint navigation app to manage automatic routing between test locations- Executing the unprotected left at Chuck's Corner followed by a U-turn waypoint- Checking the service menu for front camera visibility alerts linked to glare and windshield off-gassing- Navigating to and parking at a charging stall at the Wawa Wilson Boulevard Supercharger- Testing vehicle detection and stop behavior at the yellow chain obstacle with manual waypoint placement- Assessing parking performance at the Memorial cul-de-sac, Five Points angled parking, and BiscottisSubscribe to @ChuckCook for more direct, real-world Tesla FSD testing and evaluation.
AJ and I take the Cybertruck out on FSD 14.3.9 to test the new automatic collision avoidance logic and run our standard route. We evaluate the question mark unprotected left, multiple parking scenarios, and the thin chain test. Throughout the drive, we test simulated driver inattention and obstacle approaches to see whether the new collision avoidance logic intervenes.Highlights:- Cybertruck navigates the neighborhood question mark unprotected left and completes a tight U-turn into the center travel lane.- Multiple tests of the automatic collision avoidance logic fail to trigger an autonomous takeover despite prolonged simulated driver inattention.- Cybertruck successfully reaches the cable during a V3 Supercharger parking test, though the connection remains tight.- Manual pin adjustments at the thin chain test fail to prevent the Cybertruck from backing into the chain boundary.- Occupancy network renders a straight line over the zigzag curb at Five Points angled parking, leaving the Cybertruck protruding into the street.- Angled parking succeeds on the straight curb at Biscotti's without occupancy network distortion.Subscribe to @ChuckCook for continuous, real-world Tesla FSD testing.
We take the Model Y out on FSD 14.3.9 to test the new automatic collision evasion feature and see how it handles our regular route. Along the drive we look at highway lane change behavior, unprotected left turns, and multiple parking scenarios. I also attempt to deliberately trigger the evasion feature on the highway and reflect on my recent CyberCab ride in Austin.Highlights:- Attempted twice to trigger automatic collision evasion by disengaging steering and looking into the back seat, but the feature did not activate- Successfully completed the unprotected left turn and followed immediately with a rolling U-turn without stopping- Observed highway lane changes in Hurry profile showing more urgency to clear the left lane alongside frequent blinker activity- Failed angled parking at Five Points when the occupancy network stopped the car six feet short of the curb, leaving the rear sticking into traffic- Evaluated the chain parking location twice, resulting in a severely misaligned back-in first attempt and a suspected geofenced stop on the second- Cleanly navigated around an open car door into the gore area and gave wide clearance to a pedestrian standing by a vehicle- Successfully backed into a Supercharger stall fully centered with no manual steering interventionSubscribe to @ChuckCook for continuous, detailed evaluations of Tesla Full Self-Driving builds.
In this drive, we test FSD version 14.3.8 on the Cybertruck across our standard Jacksonville route to evaluate unprotected left turns and navigation waypoints. We also test the thin chain obstacle, diagonal parking behavior, and performance during a heavy rainstorm with standing water.Highlights:- Setting up a multi-stop navigation route using Grok voice commands and saved favorites.- Executing an unprotected left turn and U-turn with smooth creep-and-wait behavior across multi-lane traffic.- Evaluating V3 Supercharger stall parking alignment and charging cable reach.- Testing the thin yellow chain obstacle, requiring driver braking intervention roughly 10 inches away.- Diagnosing diagonal parking issues where the occupancy network stopped over six feet short of the curb.- Encountering street parking that legally signaled and backed directly into a hashed area blocking a driveway.- Driving through heavy rain, poor visibility, and flooded roads, including a brief red hands warning that immediately recovered.Subscribe to @ChuckCook for regular testing and unfiltered evaluation of FSD Supervised.
We take the Model Y out on FSD Supervised v14.3.8 to test new summer update features, voice waypoint navigation, and the standard testing route. Along the way, we evaluate an unprotected left turn, re-test the thin chain scenario, and discuss the service resolution on our family member's HW3 car.Packaging saved to: /Users/chuck/DataDrive/Local_Video/TeslaVideos/Exports/1438_Full_packaging.txtGenerating podcast description from SRT...=== Podcast description ===We take the Model Y out on FSD Supervised v14.3.8 to test new summer update features, voice waypoint navigation, and the standard testing route. Along the way, we evaluate an unprotected left turn, re-test the thin chain scenario, and discuss the service resolution on our family member's HW3 car.Highlights:- Testing voice-activated multi-waypoint route setup using Grok- Smooth unprotected left turn at Chuck's Corner with immediate gap selection and no hesitation- Centered reverse parking into a V3 Supercharger stall with the Model Y- Evaluating camera zoom settings and driving camera preview from the summer update- Testing the thin chain scenario where navigation map data routed the vehicle around the chain- Street parallel parking test and handling of handicap parking stall selection- Details on the service resolution for a family member's HW3 vehicle involving a right repeater camera replacementSubscribe to follow @ChuckCook for ongoing FSD Supervised testing and detailed drive evaluations.
building. Meanwhile, the tarp flight barriers are keeping the bees up high during the late summer dearth. Chuck also discusses why defensive bee behavior during August should not immediately be blamed on genetics.Highlights:- Inspection and layout of the 16 by 32 slab with a two-by-four shelf ledge for corrugated metal siding and 12-inch deep footers- Setting the slab height above the terrain's high point near the oak tree to ensure water drains away from the building- Reviewing the aggregate reinforcement concrete mix used instead of traditional four-inch wire mesh- Running conduit for electrical power, a grounding rod, fiber optics, and drainage for a deep sink- Tuning weighted tarp flight barriers to keep foraging bees above eye level around the yard and worksite- Assessing seasonal dearth, weather, and queenless status before making decisions on colony aggressionSubscribe to @chuckshoneybees for regular updates on apiary management and property projects.
