Episode 103: Oklahoma Undercover
Oklahoma is known for many things, such as agriculture, dust storms, and especially Oklahoma State University. There are a number of high-profile Oklahomans, ranging from actors to politicians, many of whom graduated from OSU. But beyond the surface, there is another side to our history, one shaped by spies, undercover work, and espionage. On today's episode, we will be exploring this hidden world of undercover work by hearing the stories of two Oklahomans who have participated in it as spies and intelligence agents. In addition to the captivating stories these former federal agents tell, we will be listening to one of them share her experience as she pioneered the way for the undercover women of today, balancing her work as a spy with her life as a mother. Episode 102: Advice from the inductees of the Oklahoma Women's Hall of Fame
"To honor Oklahoma women who are pioneers in their field or in a project that benefits Oklahoma; who have made a significant contribution to the State of Oklahoma; who serve or have served as role models to other Oklahoma women; who may be "unsung heroes," but have made a difference in the lives of Oklahomans or Americans because of their actions; who have championed other women, women's issues, or served as public policy advocates for the issues important to women; and who exemplify the Oklahoma spirit." This is the purpose of the Oklahoma Women's Hall of Fame, established in 1982 by Governor George Nigh. Since then, 141 Oklahoma women have been inducted for their contributions, including one of our former OSU Presidents, Dr. Kayse Shrum. This month, we'll be listening to advice from a wide variety of inductees of the Oklahoma Hall of Fame. Whether giving advice to fellow women or fellow Oklahomans, these ladies have countless words of wisdom that are applicable to people in all different walks of life. Episode 101: Pranks
College pranks, traditions, and wild experiences in general are often formative for undergrads attending university. Here at Oklahoma State, that is no different. However, while some see these experiences as fun and light hearted, others may see them as dangerous, wrong, and outright illegal. From stories about giving roommates way too much mail to being a firsthand witness of streaking nights on the strip, and even retellings of an infamous panty raid, this month we will be exploring pranks and traditions from an OSU perspective.
