Fr. Christian is a priest in the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America serving at St. Mark Orthodox Church in Bellevue Florida. After nearly becoming a monk on Mt. Athos, due to life circumstances, he ended coming back to the US and getting married. He observes that before you get married or become a monk everything in life is potentiality, but aftewards everything becomes actualized. Relationships between men and women have never been more strained than they are now. The percentage of adults who are married are at all time lows and divorce rates are sky high. In the church we also have the extremely difficult situation where the ratio of male to female converts is estimated to be about 9:1. Moreover, the economic situation makes it increasingly difficult for men to establish themselves financially to be able to support a family, which makes it even more difficult for them to find a spouse. What can be done? Fr. Christian has been counseling people in these difficult circumstances, and he will share with us some guidance that he has to give in this interview. Fr. Archimandrite Nicanor is the Abbot of Tsarnogorsky Monastery "Holy Wonderworkers Kosma and Damian" in Bulgaria. He himself has a high regard for Fr. Seraphim Rose, however he has some reservations regarding the ongoing process of his glorification. On this channel we have for a long time been advocates for Fr. Seraphim's formal Glorification, but we are not biased by church politics; we want to hear all sides of the story. For that reason we have brought on Fr. Nicanor to hear a viewpoint that many have not considered. There is nothing wrong with discussing these issues, and in fact we SHOULD talk about them before going through with the process of glorification. Among the objections Fr. Nicanor brings up are the questioned canonical status of ROCOR at the time, how Fr. Seraphim would have viewed the reunification of ROCOR with the MP, and his controversial book on the tollhouses. We end the interview with a discussion of Fr. Nicanor's views on nationalism._______________________________________________________Young Penitent Links:Beard Oil: https://www.byzantinebeard.com/Telegram Announcements Channel: https://t.me/+jITpv7gWcE9hM2IxTelegram Chatroom: https://t.me/+jITpv7gWcE9hM2IxTwitter/X: https://x.com/youngpenitentDonate to Young Penitent via Paypal here: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/youngpenitentSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1MqPG5CgYnmMrQ5h8DUcSAApple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/young-penitent/id1709812607Free album download: https://youngpenitent1.bandcamp.com/album/christian-rap-2
When new converts have a lot of zeal they often want to DO SOMETHING but they don't always know what to do. Seraphim Hook had an idea to put his zeal to work and he went and founded a student run organization at Oregon State University. The organization is called the St. Saba Society and beyond their club meetings they are involved in missionary and educational outreach, as well as charitable activities. In todays interview we will discover the process that led to the creation of the organization, what successes they have seen so far, the obstacles that have shown up and how they have been overcome._________________________________________________________Young Penitent Links:Beard Oil: https://www.byzantinebeard.com/Telegram Announcements Channel: https://t.me/+jITpv7gWcE9hM2IxTelegram Chatroom: https://t.me/+jITpv7gWcE9hM2IxTwitter/X: https://x.com/youngpenitentDonate to Young Penitent via Paypal here: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/youngpenitentSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1MqPG5CgYnmMrQ5h8DUcSAApple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/young-penitent/id1709812607Free album download: https://youngpenitent1.bandcamp.com/album/christian-rap-2
Discussing the recent announcement by the ROCOR Synod of the coming Glorification of St. Seraphim Rose.
In today's stream we will be discussing how Immanuel Kant is living rent free in many people's heads. His philosophy has become so all-pervasive that people don't even realize that his ideas affect how many people view the world to to this day. We bringing back Nathaniel as our guest to help us see through the deception and point out how this came to be.Nathaniel's links: https://linktr.ee/bodilessvoice____________________________________________________Young Penitent Links:Beard Oil: https://www.byzantinebeard.com/Telegram Announcements Channel: https://t.me/+jITpv7gWcE9hM2IxTelegram Chatroom: https://t.me/+jITpv7gWcE9hM2IxTwitter/X: https://x.com/youngpenitentDonate to Young Penitent via Paypal here: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/young...Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1MqPG5C...Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast...
John Mance is the founder of Byzantine Beard. In today's interview we get to know the founder and discuss how Byzantine Beard came to be. We will also be discussing our products in detail. You will find out in this interview the philosophy behind our products, why we chose the ingredients we chose, and how to use our pure and all natural beard oils and balms. Our products are available at www.byzantinebeard.comAbout Byzantine Beard:At Byzantine Beard we have created a line of beard care products inspired by the monks of the Byzantine Empire who never cut their hair - and most certainly not their beards! Our monastic blend beard oil and beard balm are the highest quality beard care products on the market, which help you to achieve thicker, stronger, healthier beards. We chose all natural ingredients, avoiding harsh chemicals and additives, and kept to the rule that if it isn't good for you it doesn't go in the product.John Mance, the founder of Byzantine Beard, has been selling beard oil and beard balm at a local Saturday market in Oregon for a number of years, and has long desired to sell his products online. A small problem presented itself however: he was not very familiar with the use of technology. That's where our online sales manager Young Penitent comes into the picture. John and YP became friends when the latter would frequent the Byzantine Beard stall at the market, and John saw that this was someone that he could trust to bring his beard oil products to a wider market. And so we made a deal, not in writing but relying on the old-fashioned method of a handshake, to team up and launch a web-store.As Christian men, we support the tradition of growing out our beards, which has it's roots going all the way back to the Old Testament. Anointing oneself with oil was common back then, as it says in the Psalm: "oil to make his face shine". It is not a requirement for a Christian man to grow out a beard, but we think it is a good practice that should be encouraged. "For God has adorned man like the lions with a beard - a sign of his strength and rule" - Clement of Alexandria_____________________________________________________Young Penitent Links:Beard Oil: https://www.byzantinebeard.com/Telegram Announcements Channel: https://t.me/+jITpv7gWcE9hM2IxTelegram Chatroom: https://t.me/+jITpv7gWcE9hM2IxTwitter/X: https://x.com/youngpenitentDonate to Young Penitent via Paypal here: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/youngpenitentSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1MqPG5CgYnmMrQ5h8DUcSAApple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/young-penitent/id1709812607Free album download: https://youngpenitent1.bandcamp.com/album/christian-rap-2
