My name is Whitney Walker, welcome to Women Waken! I am a Licensed Mental Health Therapist specialising in substance abuse, addiction, eating disorders, trauma, and Spirituality. Over 10 years ago I walked into a therapist office for the first time because I realised that I felt incapable of handling life. I abused drugs and alcohol, had rock bottom self esteem, often felt suicidal, was very self destructive, and had no idea how to resolve what felt like a complete mess inside my mind and emotions. After years of therapy, getting sober, and choosing to begin the journey of unconditional self love for myself, things started to change. My self esteem rose along with my self regard and kindness towards myself. I knew there was only one thing I wanted to do with the rest of my life; help others out of the place that I was in and start figuring out how we can end these cycles for good, for all of us. Women Waken is building community and offering a platform for Women to come together wh

* Hello Dear Listeners! People seem to like the dating episodes from the archives so here's another one. As I'm on the move abroad and not able to record, I've decided to republish most of my catalogue as I know many listeners haven't gone back to older episodes. Hope you enjoy!*The old adage is true; breaking up is hard to do. There is nothing quite like the ending of a romantic relationship to truly feel like you've been punched in the stomach, had your heart stepped on, and like an angry swarm of bees have been placed in your head with swirling thoughts of what went wrong. Of course all endings are different yet, a lot of the time, break-ups result in a fairly strong emotional upheaval. ESPECIALLY if a sense of rejection was involved. However, there is good news. These treacherous experiences that leave you unable to eat, sleep, or think about anything else can act as a major catalyst for you personal and spiritual growth. Don't believe me? Check out this episode. On this solo Identify and Heal episode I share my professional and personal views on rejection & break ups; why they affect us so strongly, how they can benefit us and enable powerful transformation, and of course I throw in some tips on how to actually get through them because, it can be brutal. So be ready to take notes and get some tissue if you're going through one right now, tears are cathartic and fantastic for you!Join the Women Waken Community on Instagram Here: https://tinyurl.com/522duz2c Feel free to reach out to me to see how we can work together and send your questions, feedback, and requests for future solo episodes here: Whitney Walker, LMFTLicense # 107082www.WomenWaken.comhttps://www.psychologytoday.com/profi...Whitney@WomenWaken.comIG: @WomenwakenYoutube: @womenwaken
*This episode was originally released in June 2023. Wondering if my current audience still resonates with the dating episodes:)Breaking up is hard to do. It can be absolutely brutal when a relationship comes to an end leaving us feeling like a life force we've come to know and enjoy has just disappeared. There can be a lot of crying, deep sadness, confusion, questions, and intense longing to reconnect with our lost love. The more connected with our Divine Feminine self we are the less of an impact these endings have, because our worth and emotional well being isn't as tied up in other people. Yet we're still Human and it can be a struggle anytime you lose love. The question of this episode is... is what you're feeling really heart break or just an ego bruise? On this episode I share what I mean by ego bruising and distinguish between a connection based in ego, fear, and deficit compared to one based in love, security, and feelings of safety. Hint; one relates to the Divine Feminine and the other to codependency. * THIS EPISODE WAS ORIGINALLY RELEASED IN OCTOBER, 2023! T SHOULD STILL HOLD UP ;)*I'm on a Self Love kick lately and I'm hoping many of you will join me. especially after the eclipse and New Moon in Libra this past weekend. I feel this strong sense that it's time to step forward and never look back. To end the comparisons and the self criticism. A time to truly embody the Divine Feminine Empress energy. Falling in love with ourselves in the name of the highest good for all beings. We owe this to ourselves and to one another because once we do this, then finally we can begin to see the changes we've been crying out for on our troubled planet. On this Divine Feminine Solo Episode I invite you to join me in the Sacred circle of Divine love for the self. To begin seeing yourself in the light which you are truly; one of perfection and unconditional value and worth. A vision of self, free from hate and full of acceptance, understanding, and about making the best decision for ourselves even if that means needing to release people and situations from our lives to gain greater peace. Loving ourselves enough to no longer be cruel to ourselves or subject ourselves to others who are. I offer some initial steps and exercises to cultivate this energy of love and regard and release the way things have been that no longer belong in our hearts, minds, or beings.Join the Women Waken Community on Instagram Here: https://tinyurl.com/522duz2c Feel free to reach out to me to see how we can work together and send your questions, feedback, and requests for future solo episodes here: Whitney Walker, LMFTLicense # 107082www.WomenWaken.comhttps://www.psychologytoday.com/profi...Whitney@WomenWaken.comIG: @WomenwakenYoutube: @womenwaken
Music, happiness, and inspiring others are a few of my favorite things. Which is why I was very excited to speak with this week's guest, Galen Bingham, The Leadership Strategist and host of the fabulous podcast, Whisky, Jazz, and Leadership. Although I've been sober now for 10 years, I'm able to relate to Galen's concept for his show where Whisky represents savoring & appreciating life and Jazz & Leadership are our own brilliant expression that inspires others. Galen and I did a pod swap after meeting on the panel for another fabulous show, Think & Grow Rich Mastermind. We appreciated each other's perspectives and proceeded to have a blast recording together speaking on all things growth, manifestation, masculine/feminine benefits, and what a true leader is.On this guest episode, Galen and I have a thoughtful and wide-spanning conversation to explore what makes us happy, inspires, and motivates us. Galen brought some very thoughtful concepts to the show including, presence beyond polish, the importance of passion & joy to reaching success, and why real leadership presence comes from alignment of identity, authority, and decision clarity rather than presentation skills. We also discuss the moment leaders stop waiting for permission and make the shift from performing leadership to embodying leadership.Bio:Galen Bingham is known as The Leadership Strategist®. He is a Top Executive Coach recognized by INC Magazine and named the #1 Executive Coach in the Midwest by Real Leaders Magazine. A former Fortune 500 executive with companies such as Kraft Foods, Imperial Sugar, and Coca-Cola North America, Galen now coaches senior leaders and C-suite executives navigating high-stakes decisions and complex organizational pressure. He is the host of the award-winning Whiskey, Jazz & Leadership podcast, which streams in over 20 countries, and serves as President of the SSM Cardinal Glennon Healthcare Foundation. Galen is also the author of the forthcoming book The Power Code, focused on how rising executives navigate pressure, power, and politics at the highest levels of leadership. So be good & ready to have a blast this Summer even if a little hard work is suggested to allow for ultimately greater peace & ease. On this I solo episode I explore this rare and powerful combination of The Solstice/Full Moon and share my understanding and take on the potential for this time. People often ask what the personal Mission Statement is for your life. Which is an awesome exercise to do. Yet I particularly like the concept that this week's guest asks, What is your Soul Statement? Corey Lyon Folsom published his book, Soul Statements: A Love Coach’s Guide To Successful Communication in an effort to inspire others to simplify and improve their lives. His book is a practical guide full of simple, yet potent tools for making small shifts that produce outsized benefits in life and love. So what is a Soul Statement? It is not an ordinary affirmation. Rather, it is a present-time reminder of what is true & good & resourceful about yourself, which creates greater emotional coherence. Fabulous concept right? On this guest episode I have a delightful time exploring many beautiful concepts with Corey including why he wrote his book and how Soul Statements can improve inner clarity and communication. Corey also talks a lot about how Soul Statements can help with relationships to shift from conflict to harmony and flow and make us more empathic partners, co-workers and friends. They also improve self care and help align routines with our visions and goals. Is there anything Soul Statements cant do?? With a name like that I would say, no! In addition, Corey shares about his work as a relationship coach and how he helps clients create a path to having the love they desire.Bio: As a certified relationship coach, Corey Lyon Folsom helps people increase connection and clarity. He has also been a wilderness guide for newly sober people and a vision quest leader. During a spiritual soul-awakening in 2009 Corey experienced the pure joy that is availablewhen one is deeply aligned with Spirit. He then embarked on a development journey with Non-Violent Communication (NVC), Source School of Tantra Yoga, Love Coach Academy, Tony Robbins and other programs. Each of these experiences enhanced Corey’s access to his inner resources and compassion. Corey’s award-winning book, Soul Statements: A Love Coach’s Guide To Successful Communication, is a practical guide full of simple, yet potent tools for making small shifts that produce outsized benefits in life and love. He enjoys daily movement and makes time for stillness. Corey is the father of two adult sons and is very proud of his 10 year-old grandson.Social media links:https://www.facebook.com/coreFhttps://www.instagram.com/coreylyonfolsom/https://www.pinterest.com/lovecoachcorey/
Regret is not inherently a bad thing to experience. In its initial stage regret can enable us to realize that we do not prefer the choice or action we made in a situation and would act differently in the future. Regret can keep us chained to the past, however, if we feel unable to learn from it, release it, and move on. Easier said than done sometimes, especially if we feel that something we did or didn't do changed the course of our lives. So how do we sit with this regret? Make peace with our past and perceived mistakes? it's not always simple and lived regret can feel like torture. On this Divine Feminine solo episode I wanted to address the topic of regret and how to release it. What it can feel like in our minds, bodies, and emotions and how it can weigh us down and keep us feeling apart from our Divine Feminine selves. I share some of my own experience with regret and struggles to let it go. Then I get into how we can make small steps towards making peace with our past decisions, see every experience in our lives as a pivotal piece of our greater growth and evolution, and open ourselves up to fully live our lives free from codependent hang ups.Spirit Animal Oracle by Colette Baron-Reid, https://www.hayhouse.com/the-spirit-animal-oracle-card-deckJoin the Women Waken Community on Instagram Here: https://tinyurl.com/522duz2c Feel free to reach out to me to see how we can work together and send your questions, feedback, and requests for future solo episodes here: Whitney Walker, LMFTLicense # 107082www.WomenWaken.comhttps://www.psychologytoday.com/profi...Whitney@WomenWaken.comIG: @WomenwakenYoutube: @womenwaken
It is such a delightful surprise when a synchronistic event seems to pop up out of no where. Something as simple as seeing the same recurring numbers over and over again everywhere (we call them Angel numbers, always good to look up the meaning of the specific numbers you're seeing) or seeing a message on a billboard that seems to answer the exact question you were contemplating in your mind. Or it could be something that really stuns you. Something that feels like it is almost completely impossible and unexplainable. So great of a coincidence that it stops you in your tracks. Yet this is the Universe and guides from the Spirit realm's way of telling you, pay attention! Signs are everywhere and we are guiding you and supporting you all the time. And that you're heading in the right direction. On this Divine Feminine solo episode I delve into the sweet waters of synchronicity. Sharing some of my favorite experiences of it and my understanding of why it occurs, what it means, and how you can begin to open yourself to synchronicities in your life.
