Gangs, Sinless Perfection, and Throwing Hands: Storytime with The Perrys

Y’all love a “storytime” episode and it’s been a while since the Perrys recorded one. The Perrys cover a wide range of topics, from legalism and the idea of “sinless perfection” to stories about identity, “hood” dynamics, and pretending to be someone you’re not. Jackie and Preston discuss the theology of justification and sanctification as they remember meeting someone during a stop on a poetry tour who claimed he had not sinned in 10 years. Then you’ll hear some high-school Jackie stories – like the time she was a fake gang member on her old Black Planet page – plus Preston’s recollection of the time he got robbed in Nigeria for multiple hours. It’s a funny one – enjoy. Scripture references: Romans 7:13-20, 23-24 Romans 7:5 1 Corinthians 1:2 This Episode is Sponsored By: crossway.org/WTPlyrics - Purchase The Sing!
