Getting up to speed with Willcox’s groundwater crisis

August 15, 2025·37 min
Episode Description from the Publisher

In December 2024, the governor of Arizona declared an active management area for the Willcox Basin due to severe groundwater overdraft by large agricultural users, which has caused residents’ wells to go dry, the land to subside, and fissures in the land to open up. In this video I explore how this issue came about, what is currently being done about it and how to stay informed.
