Jason sat down with writer/director Jay Pendarvis Jr. to discuss his short film, See You, Soon. See You, Soon is "an intimate, character-driven drama about grief, memory, and the weight of unfinished conversations." It's powerful, moving, and looks beautiful. Pendarvis manages to pack a whole lot into 10 minutes. We cannot wait to see what he does next. He's definitely one to watch. It's our last day at DIFF and we try something different: Driving While Screaming...in Separate Cars. While the audio might not always be great, the conversation is. Films discussed: As We Breathe; If I Go Will They Miss Me; and Poetic License. We're already looking forward to DIFF 2027. It's a solo rendition of Driving While Screaming. Brock had things he could not get out of; things that could not be avoided; Brock is not happy about that. But Jason is here to tell you all about day five of DIFF '26 (and some interesting non-DIFF films as well). We were honored to sit down with Ellen Rodnianski to talk about her film, American Baby. A powerful, and beautiful movie about a pregnant 15 year old confronting isolation, double standards, and adult choices. Keep an eye out for this one. We love DIFF. We think it's one of the top (and one of the most underrated) film festivals in the country. But even great film festivals have bad days. We are back at DIFF, recording in any space and time we can find between trying to catch as many movies as possible. We recap day one by looking at the films Last Shot, Gaslit, and non-fest films The Drama, and Mother Mary--all from the crowded press lounge at Cineopolis. Brock Kingsley and Jason Wiseman discuss and review movies worth watching in a way that nerd-ish types do when they sit down to chat. Passionate opinions, (bad) inside jokes, obscure references, and rants; there will be rants. Often irreverent, sometimes insightful. Plus, occasional special guests and special topics.
