He kindly provided his contact information: drschaefer@balancehealth.com  Dr. Schaefer on LinkedIn  Additional information from Dr. Schaefer: For all inflammatory conditions: Drug rash, allergic contact dermatitis, psoriasis, lupus, tine pedis, erythrasma/pitted keratolysis (providers can use woods lamp to diagnose) it is important to seek care early so a biopsy can be done and the correct diagnosis made with the appropriate treatment plan being designed.  Regarding SPF: the physical (mineral) blocks are preferable because the block a wider spectrum of the light including UVB and are less irritating especially for sensitive skin. And they don't cause a problem for our coral reefs. Zinc oxide is ok for most. For patients suffering from melasma, titanium oxide is another step up.  Calluses build in response to external pressure. Adjusting footwear and habits should come FIRST. A general "clean up" of calluses at the nail salon is not recommended. A gentle approach while keeping some protection from the cushioning callus is recommended if the inciting stimulus remains. Also, the cuticle (little skin fold attaching the skin to the nail where the lunula is (white crescent) is super important to seal the nail unit from bacteria crawling in.
