In this episode of Voices of KSU ASI, we sit down with Riley Miller and Brooklyn Plumb, two standout members of Kansas State University’s nationally recognized Meat Animal Evaluation Team. Fresh off a National Championship team finish, Riley and Brooklyn share what it takes to compete—and win—at the highest level. Riley, originally from Laramie, Wyoming, has built an impressive judging career, earning 4-H All-American honors, junior college Team of the Year recognition, and a 2nd high individual overall finish in meat animal evaluation. Brooklyn, from Haxtun, Colorado, brings strong leadership experience as a former Colorado FFA State Vice President and continues her success at K-State, where she was named 3rd high individual in meat animal evaluation. Together, they dive into their journeys through livestock and meat judging, the discipline and preparation behind competition, and the lessons they’ve learned from being part of an elite team. They also share how these experiences are shaping their futures in the agriculture industry.
