Ron Zaras on the Coolness of Rally and How to Grow the Sport in the US

We’ve got the one and only Ron Zaras in the garage!  Ron has an extensive background in rally racing in many forms.  He’s a driver, has worked on rally race teams, is a huge ambassador of the sport and most importantly, he’s a fan himself.  Scotto and Ron do a deep dive into all things rally racing.  From the early days to how rally racing developed into an international motorsport, to the current state of rally in the US and where it may be headed in the future.  They share some great stories of how they met and bonded over their love of rally racing and spent many years working on rally teams together.  They talk about the tremendous influence Ken Block had on the growing popularity of rally racing over the years, how that was a major inspiration for the Gymkhana films and how that led to the development of the iconic Hoonicorn.  They discuss their favorite drivers from their favorite eras.  They also discuss what is holding rally back in its overall popularity in the US and how showcasing it at the X Games and various Rallycross events was a great start and how Ron’s new rally-focused brand Antilag is playing a part to promote the sport and culture.   It’s a great conversation!
