Gael and Nathan fell in love onscreen during season 9 of Bravo's hit reality TV show Below Deck Med, airing in 2024; but, as Season 11 airs right now, a lot has happened off screen.  Two days after Christmas in 2025, a terrifying assault took place inside an apartment in Sydney’s north-west. New parents Nathan Gallagher and Gael Cameron were arguing when Nathan escalated the fight covering Gael's mouth, suffocating her, and squeezing her neck. Gael eventually broke free and went straight to the police. But just months later, the couple's relationship and their journey into parenthood with their six-month-old son was broadcast to millions of viewers on Bravo's hit reality TV franchise, Below Deck Mediterranean as they returned for season 11. Fans watched their relationship play out on screen, completely unaware of the horrific domestic violence that had already taken place off-camera. Now, 28-year-old Nathan Gallagher is a convicted criminal on the run.
