This week on Trigirls: Everything at last must come to an end as Vash nears his final confrontation with his brother, Knives in episode 25, "Live Through", and episode 26, "Under the Sky So Blue". In these episodes, Vash recovers from his bout with Legato, struggling to reconcile his pacifist ideals with the fact that he has now knowingly, willingly, taken a human life. With help from Meryl and Milly, he collects himself and chases after Knives, all while reminiscing about the last years they spent together in the wake of the Big Fall. Next week, we will be watching...nothing! It's our Trigun '98 wrap up episode where we discuss the show as a whole and our thoughts moving forward compared to our thoughts going in. Fear not, however. Trigirls isn't going anywhere anytime soon. For episode 13 of our show, we will be reading the first volume of the manga, Trigun (1995), chapters 0-12. Feel free to locate a copy at your leisure. Following along is no longer optional--the manga is peak! Content warning for discussions of: misogyny, torture, and mass death. Another update! At the top this time because it's important. This week's episode was late because we were waiting on our hosting service to pull our distribution from Spotify. We will no longer be distributing our episodes there due to our disagreement with Spotify's policies on generative AI and their choice of ad partners. If you'd like to know more, Austin Walker and Jack de Quidt from Friends at the Table explain it better than I ever could. I also hope this doesn't discourage anyone from continuing to listen! As alternatives to Spotify for podcasts, Overcast, Pocket Casts, and Podcast Addict all come recommended. This week, the Trigirls and Vash meet and get to know our first (alive) recurring character since episode one, the friendly yet mysterious itinerant priest Nicholas D. Wolfwood in "Murder Machine", "Quick Draw", and "Escape from Pain".In these episodes, Vash, Milly, and Meryl leave the sandsteamer behind, making their way across the desert by bus instead. There they encounter Wolfwood, who helps Vash fend off killer drones. Later, he and Vash compete in a quick draw tournament, before he and Milly help a young couple in distress. Meanwhile, the Trigirls have their first hater moment. Next week, we will be watching episodes 12-14, "Diablo", "Vash the Stampede", and "Little Arcadia". Content warnings for discussions of: misogyny, sexual violence, and human trafficking. Along the way, he and the young boy Kaite help and hinder each other to save the lives of everyone aboard and preserve the sandsteamer itself.Next week, we will be watching episodes 9, 10, and 11, "Murder Machine", "Quick Draw", and "Escape from Pain".Content warnings for discussions of: racismImages referenced this episodeDOUBLE UPDATE:We have started working on transcripts. The link to the transcript of the quiz show episode is now in that episode's description. More transcripts will be forthcoming and those links will be added to their respective episodes descriptions upon completion. For now, I've added a link to the transcript folder as a whole to our profile on RSS.com (our hosting site). It's come to my attention that Imgur is not available in the UK. In light of this I've switched to using Google Drive to host the related screenshots for this episode. I'll be updating earlier episodes soon.Featuring Stella-Jude (they/them), Maggie (she/her), and Cassie/Moose (she/they/it)Produced by MaggieOur theme music is "Far Feasible" by Three Card MonasteryCover image created by Stella-JudeFollow us on Tumblr or email us with any questions at trigirlspodcast@gmail.com
