My guest in this episode is Dr. Cristina McMullen. Dr. McMullen has been actively working in the field of alternative healthcare since 2005. From a young age, she had a strong desire to learn everything there was to know about the body and how to heal it naturally. She began by attending Everglades University, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Alternative Medicine. She then became a Certified Wellness Coach through The International Association of Wellness Professionals. Finally, she earned her Doctorate of Traditional Naturopathy from New Eden School of Natural Health and Herbal Studies, completing her dissertation on the complex pediatric neurological diagnosis of PANS/PANDAS. Dr. McMullen discusses her experience treating children with pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorders, including PANS and PANDAS, which are characterized by sudden onset of neuropsychiatric symptoms following streptococcal infections in children under 12. She explains that while there's no single diagnostic test, practitioners diagnose based on clinical symptoms such as anxiety, OCD, and extreme food restrictions. Treatment typically involves a multi-faceted approach, including antibiotics to address underlying infections, immune modulators, and behavioral therapy, though the diagnostic criteria and treatment options are still controversial and limited to pediatric cases. I have not had a specialist on PANS/PANDAS so I am hoping this episode will help shed some light on that challenging topic as it affects children, who are also the hardest hit population from Lyme and tick-borne illnesses. These two things go together many times: Lyme and PANS/PANDAS. Please share this episode because I often think that I had the vocabulary to tell doctors how I was feeling and they still missed the diagnosis of Lyme, but children may struggle even more to elaborate their symptoms and issues well. It is important for us to understand about how this affects children. If you are looking to contact Dr. McMullen, she can be found at Longevity Health Center (http://longevityhealth.com) in Roswell, GA and does see clients both in-person and virtually, depending on your needs.
This week, Greg Lee, the founder of Lyme Research and Healing Center, shares his personal experience with tick-borne illness and the importance of addressing underlying root causes of health issues. Greg discusses the high number of tick-borne illness cases in the United States and explores how different factors, such as toxins like mold, and immune system strength, contribute to varying health outcomes. He emphasizes the need for comprehensive treatment approaches to help individuals regain their health and well-being. Take a listen as he explains his 8-stage healing process and some pretty cool info he has discovered to help patients get to the root cause of their chronic illness. If you are interested to talk with Greg, he is rather active on social media and you can find his Center at lymeresearchcenter.com. If this episode is helpful, please give it a thumbs up and share. And if you know someone struggling with Lyme and tick-borne illness, share this podcast with them. It may be the exact thing they need to hear to help them continue on their healing journey.
My guest this week is someone who is turning a horrible experience with Lyme into something that helps thousands. Michele, the founder of Central Mass Lyme Foundation, discusses her mother's experience with Lyme disease, which was misdiagnosed as ALS. The disease caused her mother to pass away due to a severe reaction to treatment. Michele highlights that her mother's symptoms, which she had documented in her journals, were consistent with Lyme disease but she never got the diagnosis which is FAR too common. Michele also shares that her mother's diagnosis of Lyme disease helped her husband, who was experiencing similar symptoms, get proper diagnosis and treatment, potentially saving his life. It is almost as if her mother went through what she did to save Michele's husband. If you find this episode inspiring and useful, please like and subscribe as it helps me reach new audiences and can possibly save a life. Lyme disease is often misdiagnosed and the more you know, the safer you and your loved ones can be.
Take a listen as Sean shares his experience of contracting Lyme disease, which led to a severe infection and subsequent hospitalization. He underwent surgery and spent three weeks in the hospital, followed by four months in bed. Despite the challenges, Sean has made a full recovery and is now in good health. I am always amazed at the different ways people heal their bodies, and Sean's journey highlights this. If you have recovered from Lyme and tick-borne illness and would like to share your story, please send me a message. The more stories of healing we can share, the better our community will be. Are you trying to discern if your chronic Lyme is actually mold toxicity? This week's episode can help shed some light on that question. Take a listen as Kimberley Quirk, a functional medicine practitioner and mold detox specialist, shares her recovery from Lyme, tick-borne illness, and mold poisoning. When I look back on my own journey, the lines blur whether I was struggling more with tick-borne illness or mold, or both. They have very similar symptoms and take somewhat similar remedies. At least 70% of my guests have had issues with mold, which is something that is often overlooked by allopathic physicians. It is imperative you find a Lyme-literate physician or holistic health care provider that knows how to help you truly get to the root cause of your symptoms. If you find this episode inspiring and insightful, please like and subscribe so that we can reach larger audiences with this info. At least 465,000 individuals are diagnosed with Lyme every year in the US alone so this info can help save lives.
Are you looking for some low- to no-cost solutions to help support you through the healing journey of chronic Lyme? This episode is for you. In this episode, I interview Rabbi Melinda Bernstein. She shares her journey back to wellness from Lyme and tick-borne illness by focusing on mindfulness, herbs, and blood cleansing. Rabbi shares how the illness led to a greater connection with self, wealth, and a deeper understanding of the importance of health. We both agree that the key to healing lies in self-love and acceptance, and that it's not always easy to find this within oneself. Take a listen as Rabbi shares some great ways to do this and ultimately to HEAL. If you are interesting to work with Rabbi Bernstein, she does work with individuals as a transformation coach. You can find her at Sacred Vitality at rabbimelindabernstein@substack.com. Please like and subscribe to my channel to help others find this treasure trove of heling stories. They helped me so much on my journey, and I am grateful to be here to help others find the same.
This week's episode features Bebe Pleasant. I came across Bebe's profile on TikTok where she is a strong educator on health-related topics and tick-borne illnesses. I was immediately captivated by her energy and grateful she was willing to share her story on this podcast. Bebe shares her personal journey with Lyme disease, starting with symptoms like double vision and anxiety as a child. She was misdiagnosed with IBS and ADD, and later suspected she had bipolar disorder. Bebe's symptoms worsened after a car accident in 2017, leading her to suspect mold toxicity. She underwent a detox program with Cell Core, which helped alleviate her symptoms. However, she was later diagnosed with Lyme disease and several co-infections. Bebe found a Lyme-literate therapist and coach who helped her with brain retraining and trauma work. She also tried Kambo, an Amazonian frog secretion that resets the body at a cellular level. Bebe's life improved significantly after these treatments, and she now advocates for more awareness and testing for Lyme disease. Please keep in mind that these podcasts are individual experiences and are not meant to be taken as medical advice. I enjoy sharing these stories to help give ideas on how others have healed from the clutches of Lyme, tick-borne illness, and mold toxicity. Each story is unique as is every person's experience with tick-borne illness. That is part of the challenge to find a way back to health...there is not one easy cure. We can do better and I am hopeful to see much more attention falling on Lyme and the individuals suffering from it in today's political agenda. Please like and subscribe to get notified when new episodes are dropped and to help others find these stories of hope and info. I get so excited when I see a new subscriber because I know that is one more person benefitting from some good in this fight.
