Hey everyone! Welcome back to The Show with Xander. 🎙️In today's episode, I’m taking you along for the final two days of our Lisbon journey, a mix of historic landmarks, unexpected detours, and some great memories.Wednesday started with a trip to the iconic Belém Tower. Even though we could only view it from the outside, the stone fortress and river views were incredible. We spent the rest of the day navigating the city’s trams, metros, and buses, soaking in every corner of the capital.Thursday was a bit more of an adventure! It was Labor Day, and with street closures for a marathon and a protest, we had to get creative with our route. We ended up hopping on the red City Sightseeing bus, listening to the tour commentary in 16 different languages while catching views of the rooftops and the famous yellow LISBOA sign.We wrapped up the trip with a spicy lunch (a bit more kick than I expected! 🌶️) and some final shopping at "El Corte Inglés" for a panoramic view of the whole city.Listen to the full story now! 🎧Have you ever been to Lisbon? What was your favorite spot? Leave me a comment below, I’d love to hear your travel stories!#TheShowWithXander #LisbonTravel #PodcastLife #TravelStory #Lisboa #TorreDeBelem #ExplorePortugal
In this episode of The Show with Xander, I recount the chaotic Monday when a mysterious phenomenon knocked out power and telecommunications across parts of Europe. It started as a normal day waiting for a UPS delivery, but by noon, the electricity was gone. By 2 PM, cell towers failed, leaving the city in a total blackout and digital silence. I share the surreal experience of watching the city scramble without power, the eerie feeling of being completely disconnected, and the relief when the lights finally came back on.In this episode:The frustration of blocked credit cards and missed deliveries.Watching the "exodus" from the CBD as public transport faltered. The reality of a cashless, electric-dependent world shutting down. How a strange environmental phenomenon affected millions across the EU.Connect with me:Subscribe for more stories on The Show with Xander!
In this solo episode of The Show with Xander, Xander shares the real story behind his podcast: from recording his voice on cassettes as a kid, to volunteering at local radio stations in high school and university, to finally launching his show with the help of simple tools like Anchor/Spotify for Podcasters. He talks about how much he has learned from strangers on the internet and why he now wants to pass that forward, so listeners can benefit from his experiences the same way he has benefited from others who share their solutions online. If you love honest stories about growth, creativity, and finding the courage to start something you’ve always dreamed about, this episode is for you.Since I was a kid, I’ve loved recording my voice—first on old cassette tapes, then in community radio stations at high school and uni. Five years ago I answered in Spanish why I wanted a podcast, but many people kept asking me the same question in English… so here it is.In this episode of The Show with Xander, I share:How a childhood hobby turned into a lifelong passion for audio and storytelling. How easy tools like Anchor/Spotify for Podcasters helped me restart without a studio or big budget. Why I’m trying to give back by sharing the lessons, ideas and solutions that have helped me so much online.Listen now on your favourite platform and let me know what dream or project you’ve been wanting to start.
