You want a seven-figure practice, but there's no full-time receptionist, you won't show your face on Instagram, and nobody has ever listened to how your front desk answers the phone. The schedule isn't full, and it's tempting to blame September. Leisa Krauss has spent more than 30 years in medical aesthetics. She's watched the gap between frustrated practices and extraordinary ones come down to effort far more often than talent, money or luck.Leisa takes aim at the idea that passion shows up on its own. She argues it's built through participation: you get better at the work, patients trust you more, and the excitement follows. She's just as blunt about the rest. You can't hold a team to a standard you never defined, and a membership nobody mentions can't work. In the beauty industry, the way you and your practice look tells patients your standards before you say a word. Going all in has nothing to do with fourteen-hour days, though. It means deciding something matters and treating it that way.For Inner Circle members, the episode becomes a full practice audit, a challenge to find the money leaking out of the business, and a thirty-day plan built on five commitments you can measure. Owners, providers and front desk teams should listen together. Not a member yet? No worries! Just head over to ScalpelOfTruth.com and sign up today! Fall event season is here, and most medical aesthetic practices are about to spend real money throwing a party with a discount attached to it. This episode makes the case for something else: starting with a revenue target instead of a champagne order, naming the night a purchasing event instead of an open house, and building every decision backward from the number the evening needs to produce.Leisa walks through seventeen pearls covering the six to twelve weeks before the doors open. Choosing the date, building the RSVP tunnel, designing offers that drive behavior rather than erode margin, mapping how money physically moves through the room, tiering swag so it earns its cost, assigning every staff role and settling commission before anyone sells anything, and planning the follow-up while the team still has energy to execute it.Plus the mistakes that quietly cost the most: the extended offer that kills urgency, the checkout line that talks guests out of the purchase, and the injectable demo that becomes the only thing anyone remembers. The full framework, templates, and worksheets are in The Five Figure Event Method, available at theBitchnBeautician.com with 15% off for listeners using code BITCHN15.
Your ad budget went up again this quarter and the schedule still has holes in it. Somebody in the Monday meeting says you need more leads. Meanwhile there are people in your database who walked in once, handed over a credit card, and were never seen again, and nobody in the building can tell you how many of them there are.The Profit Queen has a different question: what are you doing with the patients you already have? The industry moved while most practices were looking the other way. Median revenue grew 19.2% in the first half while new patient growth crawled along at 1.2%, and roughly seventy percent of revenue is now coming from patients practices already paid to acquire. Leisa's read is that retention is now a financial strategy, and that most owners are sitting on more recoverable money than any campaign will bring them this year. When half your new patients never come back, the leak is in your consultations and your checkout, and more ad spend doesn't patch it. She also thinks your rebooking rate should be a number you can say out loud, and that "my girls usually do that" is not a number. This one is a working session with homework attached. Leisa lays out how to find the money already inside your practice, what to fix at the front desk before you spend another dollar acquiring anybody, and how to go get back the patients you already paid for. Listen with your team, because almost everything she assigns has to be owned by somebody other than you.Inner Circle members get the whole thing as a 30-day Retention Workbook! Not a member yet? Ask three people in your clinic who owns a new injectable lead and see whether you get the same answer twice. Leisa Krauss has walked into enough practices to know how that question usually lands, and she has an unwelcome diagnosis for the owner who is spending thousands a month on marketing and watching revenue sit flat. A room full of talented providers is not a team, and no amount of hiring fixes a building where three people are doing one job and nobody is doing another. Her case is that most of what owners call a people problem is a leadership system problem. Accountability without a number attached is just a feeling. A manager who has to ask permission is holding a title, not a job, and "everybody helps with everything" is how a task ends up belonging to nobody. The owner who asks for more ownership and then overrules every decision her manager makes has trained the whole team to stop deciding, and then gets to stand in her own clinic wondering why nobody can act without her. The same test applies to values. Whatever the wall says, your culture is whatever you reward and whatever you tolerate, so if your top producer treats the team badly and keeps her seat because of her revenue, teamwork is not one of your values. Revenue is.What she wants you to build instead is a short list of definitions most owners have never written down, and she has opinions about every one of them. Members get the full working reference, including the five-question audit and the thirty-day reset. Bring your manager and your front desk to this one. It goes better when everybody hears it at the same time. Not a member yet? No worries! Just head over to ScalpelOfTruth.com and sign up today! Leisa Krauss makes the case for secret shopping your own practice, and she's not interested in trapping anybody. She wants to know whether the patient experience you believe you're delivering is the one your patients are getting. She walks the whole journey looking for where the money escapes: the phone inquiry answered with a price and nothing else, the Instagram DM treated like a menu board, the consultation that prescribes before it discovers, the handoff that dumps a warmed-up patient into the parking lot, the follow-up that never happens after somebody says she needs to think about it.Along the way she builds a hundred-point scorecard you can run from your phone, explains why one shop is a snapshot and only patterns are useful, and draws a hard line between a coaching issue and a performance issue. She also turns the lens around, because owners, managers and injectors get shopped too. Accountability can't only travel downhill. If your standards only hold when you're standing at the front desk, you don't have standards. You have supervision. Not a member yet? No worries! Two practices, one city. Same economy, same interest rates, same competition, same lasers, sometimes the same prices. One is scaling. One is struggling to keep the lights on. The marketplace isn't the variable. This episode takes on the thing most operators wave off as fluff — money and success mindset — and treats it as what it actually is: the layer underneath every behavior that produces revenue or kills it. Why the new laser "didn't work." Why the skincare line "doesn't sell." Why memberships "don't work here." Why some practices seem to attract opportunity after opportunity while the practice down the road, with identical tools, can't catch a break. Plus the reticular activating system, conviction versus arrogance in the consult room, and the difference between the people who share the episode on Instagram and the people who implement one thing before lunch.Inner Circle members get the full uncensored episode and the entire implementation half: the three questions to ask before your feet hit the floor, the huddle rebuild that replaces schedules and lunches with wins and opportunities, the win board, the end-of-day audit, exactly what to measure and how to coach with numbers instead of weaponizing them, the leadership mirror question most owners flinch at, and a 30-day challenge most people can't survive until noon. Not a member yet? For its hundredth episode, The Scalpel of Truth turns reflective. Leisa Krauss steps back from the week-to-week tactics to distill what three decades in medical aesthetics have actually taught her about who thrives in this business and who stays stuck. She lays out the core divide between the people who collect a paycheck and the people who build revenue, and makes the case that loving the work, holding real boundaries, and refusing to ever coast are what separate the top of the industry from the bottom. The full set of consulting truths — the hard-won pearls pulled from hundreds of practices — waits inside the Inner Circle. Not a member yet? No worries! Two MedSpas pull the same revenue and sell for wildly different prices. The busiest, most owner-driven clinic often gets the lowest offer. This episode of The Scalpel of Truth breaks down what private equity is actually buying when it buys an aesthetic practice — and it isn't your lasers or last year's top line. EBITDA, recurring revenue, owner dependence, the factors that quietly tank a valuation, and the three-year runway it takes to be ready. The work that makes a practice worth buying is the same work that makes it worth owning. Not a member yet? No worries! Just head over to ScalpelOfTruth.com and sign up today!
