Episode Description from the Publisher

Editor – Geraud Brisson, ACE Being Heumann editor Geraud Brisson, ACE returns to The Rough Cut for a film that reunites him with CODA director Siân Heder. Their latest collaboration brings disability rights activist Judy Heumann's story to the screen, balancing the portrait of a determined leader with the collective effort of a community demanding change. Directed by Heder and co-written with Rebekah Taussig, Being Heumann stars Ruth Madeley as Judy. Set in 1977, the film follows Heumann and a coalition of protesters as they occupy San Francisco's federal building, refusing to leave until government officials act against discrimination. The ensemble includes Mark Ruffalo, Dylan O'Brien, and Madeline Delp. The story places personal relationships and political action within the same confined space. Its editorial challenge is to sustain the urgency of the occupation while giving individual characters room to emerge, keeping Judy at the center without losing the people whose participation makes the protest possible. GERAUD BRISSON, ACE Geraud Brisson, ACE is a French-American film and television editor whose credits include CODA, The OA, Counterpart, This Close, Shantaram, Lessons in Chemistry, and Spider-Noir. His collaboration with Siân Heder began through Little America and continued with CODA, the Academy Award winner for Best Picture. The Credits Visit ExtremeMusic for all your production audio needs.
