To scare or discourage people out of voting. To make voting itself feel so uncertain that we forget we are still the ones with the power, and our power comes from our numbers. No Kings itself is a manifestation of those numbers, of our force and desire to show this country that we refuse to accept what’s happening. But No Kings is also about protecting the election and mobilizing for a post election response. It’s not just a rally this time. It’s hyper local voter turnout and, most importantly, a time to gather and train people for post election mobilization. As Leah says, what’s happening is “discouraging but it’s surmountable".
