A Cheyenne elder is prepared to be sent to the star nations above, yet is denied death until he can save his family from a renegade band of Crow warriors raiding among the snowy Utah mountains in Windwalker, a 1980 novel by Blaine M. Yorgason and Breton G. Yorgason. David Lambert and Martin Kessler join us to discuss the depictions of Native Americans in the book and its 1981 film adaptation, directed by Kieth Merrill with a screenplay by Ray Goldrup. Windwalker, the book and the movie, was a childhood favorite of our friend, artist and movie poster illustrator Tony Stella.
