Last Call | Jake Coker Reveals WILD Donald Trump Encounter Before Alabama-Georgia

Former Alabama national championship quarterback Jake Coker joins Mick Gillespie for a must-watch conversation covering one of the biggest weeks of the college football season — from his incredible experience with Donald Trump in Mobile to a massive Alabama vs. Georgia showdown in Tuscaloosa. Coker takes viewers behind the scenes of Trump’s October 2 rally at the University of South Alabama, where the former Crimson Tide quarterback attended alongside his wife and was publicly recognized by Trump. Jake shares the hilarious story of meeting Trump before the event, sitting near Alabama basketball coach Nate Oats, dealing with Secret Service and even finding himself riding in the presidential motorcade with Bill Pulte, the director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency who oversees Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Then it’s time to talk Alabama football. The Crimson Tide improved to 5-0 with a dominant 56-23 road win over Mississippi State, and Coker explains why it may have been the most complete performance of the Kalen DeBoer era. Keelon Russell continued his outstanding start with 285 passing yards, three passing touchdowns and another score on the ground, while Alabama showed encouraging signs of becoming a more physical and explosive rushing team. Coker breaks down the emergence of Trae’shawn Brown and EJ Crowell, Alabama’s offensive line play, the importance of eliminating turnovers and what separates championship-caliber teams when the pressure increases. Attention now turns to one of the biggest games in college football: No. 2 Georgia vs. No. 6 Alabama at Bryant-Denny Stadium. What will it take for Alabama to beat Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs? Can the Crimson Tide establish the run against an elite Georgia defense? And what lessons can Alabama take from the 2025 SEC Championship Game, when the Tide finished with minus-3 rushing yards in a 28-7 loss? Tuscaloosa will become the center of the college football world with ESPN College GameDay, Nick Saban and Donald Trump all expected in town for the heavyweight SEC matchup. Jake also explains what it’s like for Alabama players to prepare for games surrounded by enormous expectations, national television coverage and distractions everywhere.
