Parallel Lives, Unhinged Algorithms & Christian Bale

This week it’s just the gals and we’re realizing that despite living on opposite sides of the world, we are somehow living PARALLEL LIVES. Oldest kids starting high school? Check. Dreaming up new homes? Check. Small beach-town days where you can’t leave the house without bumping into someone you know? Check. Youngest babies taking their first steps at exactly the same time? CHECK. Both families are deep in one of those wildly busy seasons where everything seems to be happening at once, so we’re celebrating the little wins too, including WYATT MAKING THE SURF TEAM!!  Then we compare algorithms, which turns out to be a fairly confronting window into who the internet thinks we are. Teresa’s is an unhinged cocktail of true crime, dream houses, babies in utero, Cruel Intentions nostalgia and gloriously expressive un-Botoxed women on screen, while Sarah’s is relentlessly serving her outdoor wear and diastasis recti tips. Which naturally leads us to AI and the fact that we are apparently the EXACT demographic these fake videos were made for. Did we believe the sloth in the floodwaters holding a kitten? Absolutely. But now we’re so suspicious we’re questioning the REAL stuff too. Do we need a “100% HUMAN” certification for content the way we have “organic” for food?!
