Concluding our 3-part series on the Lord’s prayer, we consider the Year of Jubilee, a year of rest and reset occurring every 50th year, which God instituted for the Israelites in the Mosaic Law. When Jesus prayed, “Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors,” He alluded to this Year of Jubilee as a shadow of greater freedom to come.
