The Art and Obsession of Writing with Rich Cohen

After more than a dozen books and decades writing for publications like Vanity Fair and Rolling Stone, Rich Cohen knows how a great story can change the way we see both the past and ourselves. In today’s episode, Rich and Ryan trade stories about the books and writers that shaped them, the ambition behind creative work, how discarded material influences a finished book, the myths that can take over a writer’s life, and more. Rich Cohen is a bestselling author, journalist, and screenwriter. His writing has appeared in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, Harper’s Magazine, Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, and The Wall Street Journal. He is also the co-creator, with Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger, and Terence Winter, of the HBO series Vinyl.👉 Follow Rich Cohen on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/author.richcohen/?hl=en📚Grab signed copies of Rich Cohen’s books at The Painted Porch: https://www.thepaintedporch.com/search?type=product&q=rich+cohen*Murder in the Dollhouse: The Jennifer Dulos Story: https://www.thepaintedporch.com/products/murder-in-the-dollhouse-the-jennifer-dulos-story-signed?_pos=1&_sid=c4cdd41b4&_ss=rMonsters: The 1985 Chicago Bears and the Wild Heart of Football: https://www.thepaintedporch.com/products/monsters-the-1985-chicago-bears-and-the-wild-heart-of-football-signed?_pos=5&_sid=c4cdd41b4&_ss=rThe Fish That Ate the Whale: https://www.thepaintedporch.com/products/fish-that-ate-the-whale-the-life-and-times-of-americas-banana-king-signed?_pos=3&_sid=c4cdd41b4&_ss=rPee Wees: Confessions of a Hockey Parent: https://www.thepaintedporch.com/products/pee-wees-confessions-of-a-hockey-parent-signed?_pos=4&_sid=c4cdd41b4&_ss=r📕 Pick up a copy of The Moviegoer by Walker Percy: https://www.thepaintedporch.com/products/moviegoer?_pos=1&_sid=bbe80a52c&_ss=r🎟️ DAILY STOIC LIVE | Ryan Holiday is coming to a city near you!
