Starting at just $9.17/month, it’s your edge for protecting wealth, spotting opportunities, and staying ahead of the markets. This wide-ranging podcast covers:* Energy systems worldwide face tightening constraints in supply chains, permitting, and generation capacity, making speed the defining advantage for new companies.* In the U.S., the urgent question is how to build more electricity generation quickly amid data-centre backlash and long project timelines.* Microreactors (roughly 1–20 MW) because their smaller size allows equity-funded first units, faster learning curves, and factory-style mass manufacturing.* Multiple U.S. startups (Aalo Atomics, Radiant Nuclear and others) are pursuing this path, with some aiming for operating units by the late 2020s.* Electricity demand growth extends well beyond AI data centres. Industrial electrification, onshoring, and fleet charging are also major drivers.* Grid bottlenecks, especially multi-year transformer lead times, are creating investment opportunities in solid-state transformers and smarter, bidirectional connection points.* Key materials to watch include copper, steel, high-purity aluminium (for cables and conductors), silicon carbide, and gallium nitride.* China currently dominates silicon-carbide supply chains; secondary (recycled) aluminium production is becoming more attractive as purity and collection technologies improve.* Rare-earth and critical-material strategies favour “platform” recyclers that can process multiple metals rather than single-commodity plays.* Nuclear fission (existing uranium-based technology with advanced coolants) is an engineering-and-cost challenge; fusion remains earlier-stage, more like a space programme, but is generating valuable adjacent technologies and spin-outs even before commercial power plants arrive.Contact InformationWebsite = timescale.vcSubstack at Carly AndersonDr. Carly Anderson on LinkedInChristina O’Conor on LinkedInE-mail = hello@timescale.vc (Please mention The Contrarian Capitalist Podcast)DISCLAIMER: Nothing in this post/podcast/video should be construed as financial or investment advice.
