This butterfly is excited to be speaking with Pablo Venegas. Pablo currently serves as the curator of the Herpetological Collection at the Centro de Ornitología y Biodiversidad (CORBIDI) in Lima, Peru, which houses over 23,000 specimens and more than 12,000 DNA samples. His recent research has concentrated on the diversity and conservation of Peruvian amphibians and reptiles in the Tropical Andes biodiversity hotspot, one of the most ecologically important but under-researched regions in the world. As the herpetologist at Rainforest Partnership, Pablo leads expeditions into remote regions to study and protect amphibians and reptiles. He has published over 60 scientific papers and discovered dozens of new species, playing a critical role in understanding and preserving these unique creatures. In this episode, you will hear about herpetological work, facts on frogs, their value in our ecosystem, the Shushupe, and more. Some notes... More about 1treellion & Pablo Venegas.
