New Testament, episode 2 - Context of the New Testament: The Old Testament

In the introductory episode of this series, we discussed the context of the New Testament within the history of recorded history and written language. In this episode we keep building upon our understanding of the context of the New Testament by taking a long look at the Old Testament. The Old Testament is the primary and most important context for the New Testament. By looking at the Old Testament, we see the Jewish character of the New Testament, as Jesus and His Apostles were, in fact, Jewish.
